Both Biden and Obama have "footinmouthitis". I agree neither ticket is perfect but for now I'm leaning towards McCain/Palin. I would much rather take my chance on a questionable VP rather than a questionable President. Biden could just as easily end up President, and I could see him sticking his foot in his mouth when he talks to Putin.......

Bush can garble anything, but at least he knows the basics of how to work a talking point. If somebody grills you on a talking point and you have nothing else to say, say something that has detail that's sort of related to it. Preferably something interesting, because interesting things are at least distracting.

Don't just repeat the same thing over again in a slightly more desperate manner.

Christ, she's the first national politician I can think of who could take pointers from Bush on public speaking.

The difference between Biden's frequent gaffes and Palin's, is that his usually have more to do with mangling lines and saying things in the heat of the moment, whereas with Palin I see someone who has clearly given very little thought to foreign affairs and some of the larger issues facing this country; she seems completely poleaxed when asked to answer things that you would hope she had given some consideration beforehand.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think she's stupid, I just think she's completely in over her head and displays the same kind of intellectual "incuriousness" that marked George W's 8 year run ... only with even less poise.

Please. Biden believes that FDR was the President and went on "TV" when the market crashed. It's idiotic; there is no other way to sugarcoat it.

Someone who has the first idea of what it is to run something and knows how to lead. Obama hasn't distinguished himself on either count. He's running a cult of personality based on a failed 40 year old playbook.

What gives you that idea? Bill Clinton knew the issues. Barack Obama sounds great, but says nothing. I've read the "Blueprint For America" and it says squat. Ask Obama about specifics about any issue or how he'd accomplish something, and he offers pablum. He still can't admit The Surge worked. He wanted initially to take all the troops out immediately, then it was more gradual, then less gradual. He actually asked Al-Maliki to delay an agreement so it would happen under his administration.

The world's a bit more complicated that in was in 1860.

Me too. Right now I think she's unqualified.

Where was anyone sugar coating that gaffe? I agree that was a pretty boneheaded thing to say, but if I had to pick someone getting a fairly minor historical reference all twisted up, over having essentially nothing to say, when asked a direct question relating to things like the economy and foreign relations I guess I'd lean toward being more forgiving of the former than the latter.

Part of Palin's problem is that so little is known of her that all we have to go off right now, formulating an opinion of her, is almost completely dominated by what little we have seen of her in the past few weeks. For good or bad, Biden is a fairly known quantity, so his latest flub falls within the context of a 25 years record of being a public figure.

So someone who is 'running a cult of personality' doesn't know how to lead? That's pretty contradictory. Cult leaders are indeed leaders, that's why people follow them. You aren't making sense.

I saw him tell O'Reilly that it worked far better than expected.

Now you are just repeating right-wing conspiracy theories.

Really nicely put. He's like that mouthy smart guy you know who sometimes gets drunk and gushes about how hot Barbara Walters is. The Barbara Walters thing is weird, but just yesterday he was explaining to you why the Berretta line of semi-automatic shotguns were the most coveted in the world among elite skeet shooters in Italy.

Palin is the quiet, fiesty-looking hot chick in the corner who you thought might be interesting, but when you strike up a conversation they smile and nod and repeat themselves, and you realize you were a lot happier ogling their legs from across the room.

I may be in the minority but I like what Palin has to say. Am I anxious to see her as President, hell no she's not ready. But I wouldn't mind seeing her get 4 years under McCain as Vice President. She has refreshing thoughts that haven't been corrupted by her party.

35 years of age, born an american citizen.

If you're looking at resumes, the most qualified candidate who ran is Bill Richardson, then Rudy, then Romney. The least qualified candidates won ran are McCain, Hillary and Obama (Obama being the least qualified), in that order.

Edit: Biden is right up there with McCain.

That's the Ari Fleischer method. I used to love it when the press would ask him the same question over and over and he would give the same answer over and over. It's not being stupid; it's being disciplined.

So, before he moved to Guyana, were you working for the "Jim Jones For President" campaign? Not all leaders are worth following.

I saw that too, and I saw the multiple times O'Reilly called him on it. He couldn't even bring himself to saying it was a success and it was the right thing to do.

Is it a "right-wing conspiracy theor[y]" when the source is Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari who was in the meeting with Sen. Obama and Prime Minister Al-Maliki?

I agree that she does have appealing qualities. I would probably feel a bit more comfortable with her if she were in her second term as Governor of Alaska rather than two years in.

Obama himself confirmed it in the New York Times.

Obama's own quote. Or is this still a "right-wing conspiracy theory"?

Laying the ground works for a war with Russia and talking about Putin flying over her house are refreshing?

It seems as though, in your view, a governor is more qualified to be president than a senator.

How would you rank a military general without any political experience?

ha, that's not exactly what he does. When he doesn't know the answer, he just recites facts. "Putin. He's Prime Minister. Of Russia. I've met with him several times. He's a good man."
