I think it depends on who makes the playoffs. If the Phils make it in, I think it's tough to not give it to Ryan Howard again. While his average is only around .250, he's going to end up with close to 50 homers, 150 RBI and also score over 100 runs in all likelihood.

Albert Pujols definitely deserves to be in the discussion as well. He's really carried the Cards this season and they still have an outside shot at the playoffs. You could also make an argument for Lance Berkman too, especially if the 'Stros find a way in to the playoffs.

Geovany Soto. Homer pick, maybe, but...

The guy as a rookie caught the Cubs' pitching staff and put up stellar numbers for a C. Look at the Cubs' record, too.

It's over. Albert Pujols deserves the award, hands down. Howard has had a great year, same with Berkman, but Albert with finish with .350/38/115 and has dominated all year.

Howard was a strikeout machine at the beginning of the year when Chase Utley was keeping the Phillies from tanking. Pujols has been more consistent throughtout the season and deserves for not only this year but his whole career (I know that's not supposed to count, but the people voting are liars if they say they don't take it into consideration.)
