From what I can tell, Bynum's draft numbers weren't released, but there is a reference here.

    If this is true

Bynum was 1" taller (7' bare foot v. 6'11" bare foot)
    Bynum had 2" larger wing span (7'6" v. 7'4")
Bynum jumped 3" higher on the run, 1" higher on the standing vert (37/33 v. 34/32).
Oden may or may not have a 1" advantage in standing reach

I always pictured Oden as bigger, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I would guess that Oden is more athletic, but the vert numbers don't show that. Oden is likely more laterally quick, but there is no evidence of that. Were Oden's camp numbers low for some reason?

I wouldn't mind Oden being between Howard and Bynum, but I never thought of Bynum as being bigger.

Bynum is a big guy. I wasn't that impressed with Bynum until last year. I have to admit that last year before he got injured he play very well. I still wouldn't trade Oden for Bynum even if they both were never injured again. I think Oden is going to be better especially defensively. I think it is a good Bynum and Oden are close to the same age and playing in the western conference. They should have some great battles if both can stay healthy. I can't wait and IMO Oden will be more dominate but time will tell. I can't wait for the first pre-season game against Sac and see how this team plays. The Blazers fans have some much to be excited about Oden, Rudy, Bayless and seeing how they fit with LMA and the rest of the team. If they can play good without Roy I think that we will really be something special when he gets back playing.

Bynum is bigger than Greg. It will be interesting to see who is actually stronger though. Or even when push comes to shove who has that extra grit.

I think there size difference is so close it doesn't matter that much. Both are bigger then Howard and I think he will hold his own against both at least the next couple years. I think Oden is the stronger of the two but we will have to see. Something to watch close on opening night. I think Bynum will have a little advantage on opening night because he has more experience but I still think Oden will hold his own or even out play him.

Bynum will be one of three centers in the league that he just can't "outmuscle". He is quicker then him in my opinion.

Kevin Willis was stronger than Shaq...but Shaq ate him up (at least, I think he did..I don't recall).

Yeah, but Willis had a 5'11" wing span--seriously. And Willis had big arms, but didn't have a lot of strength in his legs.

I have got to find tickets to the first game.

Hopefully Oden makes Bynum his little bitch.

    My goals for game 1

    1. Oden get's his 5th foul by slamming Kobes' head into the floor
    2. Oden get's suspended for a game when he punches that little bitch Lamar Odom after Odon undercuts Roy
    3. Aldridge once again outplays Gasol
    4. Bayless calls the entire Laker team bitches when he nails the game winning free throw after an and 1 when he dunks on Bynum

Bynum's a big dude. I think it's reasonable, though, to believe that the numbers he's reporting (and note: he's giving his own measurements) just might be a bit inflated. What would he have to lose by fudging an inch or two here and there?

Somehow, I thought you would like this one.

My prediction, however, is that most of the Blazer/L@ker games this season will be determined by the play of the 1 and 3-spots, not the centers. I think Bynum/Oden, Kobe/Roy and Pau/LMA will cancel out and the outcome will be determined by Webster/Odom or Bayless/???--who plays PG for you guys? I forgot.

Gheorghe Mureşan was bigger than Shaq, Olajuwon and Robinson. Which, as we all know, meant Mureşan was better. Talent has no importance.

Oh, I guess that is why I forgot. :drumroll:

I can't tease you too much on this. Last year's combination of Blake/Jack wasn't exactly the most memorable PG combo in the league. Hopefully Blake steps up his game and Bayless becomes the ultimate answer at PG.

Correct. He wasn't. If 13 PPG is "taking the league by storm," then LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy were destroying the league utterly.

How about you look at his game log and take into consideration that Kwame was the starter for the beginning of the season...look from Dec til he was hurt

    Bynum Game log link

This was with him getting minimal touches
Leading the league in FG% doesnt hurt either
