It was at the end of a running joke by Frank, but he DID remark that Sean has been "better than anyone" at camp when asked who would start at the 5.

The 6'8 center. Can't wait to see him banging with Andrew Bynum and Oden.

He should be in the starting lineup at some point.

I wonder if seeing Marcus get the boot has made him focus more.
His crappy summer league play had to scare him a little too.

I hope things come together for him.

By having a crappy summer league, do you mean he didnt average 30 pts, 15rbs, 10 blks, 5 stls, and 10 asts?

He could hold his own against the relatively thinner KG and wasn't afraid to battle against Shaq...

not sure that's the long term solution though

I dont think he is going to start at C. Lopez is going to get that spot. I can see Frank pulling a KVH-Kmart-Collins, Yi-S.Williams-Lopez. That is if S.Williams continues to impress and Yi can somewhat guard the 3.

Have Sean Williams guard the 3.

No, I meant he was a fouling machine that ran around like a chicken with his head cut off. He had one good game where he defended Beasley well. Other than that he seemed lost and unfocused.

Don't like that idea one bit. There's not enough bulk in that line-up. If Yi was more physical, it would work with his height. But I just don't see it happening.

    OH HAI

While talking about height, I was making a point that Sean has the physical attributes necessary to guard big men who are taller than him, but girth is a separate matter.

That ends the Ben Wallace comparison.

Williams battled with Bynum last year, played him pretty well as I recall. plus Williams is very strong and is not bulky, therefore he can get up and down the court with less fatigue.

If Frank is serious about defense, and the reports of Sean are true, would anyone be opposed to seeing this lineup at some point:

    Harris, Vince

    Sean, Yi, Brook.

On offense, Yi functions more as what you would think a SF does, but will also have opportunities to post up against slower-footed 4's. I also foresee both him and Brook running pick and pops and being dual options in the dribble drive system. Sean probably wouldn't see too many post-up opportunities (similar to last year).

On defense, Sean and Yi "switch" and Sean guards the quicker of the opposing forwards.
