Creepy how similar this is to it, eh? Brainwashed kids singing hymns for "Dear Leader".

Reminded me most of elementary school classes singing the national anthem. Anthems in general have a brainwashing aspect to them. I think virtually all anthems are creepy. Including this Obama one.

I hated the fucking pledge of allegiance.

I don't pledge allegiance to shit, let alone the the flag of the United States of America.

I also want to point out that I don't think Obama had anything to do with this. Apparently Jeff Zucker of NBC and some other Hollyweird types put this thing together.

Still, it's an odd thing to do considering the history of kids singing in praise of a political leader and not just the country that they live in.

is there a point to your videos 123?

there definitely is a difference in getting a bunch of kids to sing as if they support a candidate and kids just singing the national anthem or saying the pledge.

not that either is particularly meaningful, but it'd be nice if people were semi forcing their politics on kids or using them as if they somehow strengthen their cause.

Loyalty oaths and national anthems are forcing politics on kids. Many people are okay with it (all in the name of nationalism), but I really don't see an objective difference. It's all a form of trying to inculcate a belief in someone that isn't based on reason.

you don't think there is a difference in supporting the country as a whole(yes in the name of nationalism) and in supporting a specific candidate in an election?

There's a difference. One is a person, one is a nation. I don't think it changes the underlying principle of what is trying to be accomplished. All types of anthems (national anthems, anthems for a personality, religion anthems, etc) have different targets for adoration, but they are all trying to foster an unexamined belief.

It makes me vomit when a president says, "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

This is the selfish kind of thinking that caused the whole financial depression we are about to experience.
