Great to see Swat improving. If in 2 years he can become an David West-type player it will certainly attract good FAs to the Nets in 2010.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Regular season games are what will determine if SWat is a player. I would have added playoff games, but I don't see Nets making playoffs this season.
I am definitely not surprised that Sean Williams is getting praise. The guy has too much talent and potential. The issue will continue to be his confidence and his maturity. People always dismiss the fact the he was a rookie last year. Dont forget the kid only played half of the last year he was in College. Sean Williams IMO has more talent and potential then Boone. One more year under his belt this guy is going to be really good.
Don't be surprised if you see this line-up this season (I think we may see it quite a bit): Yi Williams Simmons Carter Harris With Yi at the 5 defensively and 4 on offense. Sean could work well in the center role in the dribble drive.
L.Frank on Sean wow, that (inability to be in the right position at the right time) was the biggest knock on Sean since the last season. if he improved that along with his offensive game... omg I'm feeling dizzy
OMG im gettin more excited for the season with all this praise for sean... should i get a Yi jersey this year? or a swat? or maybe a najera? cuz i want his ROIDS!!
Well he was our starter for a a good part of last season. He has to beat out Yi and Anderson, as Boone and Lopez will take the center minutes.
And Najera and Swift... Why does anybody think Najera is a SF? he is not. We have Simmons, Hayes and Hassell, and they are all real SFs, and better SFs than Najera. Najera is probably our best PF. Yi should start ahead of him though. I think that with the current roster, Sean is 3rd string C. PF: Yi/Najera/Anderson C: Boone/Lopez/Sean/(Stro-inactive list) All our PFs are great shooters. so probably the plays will be created to suite that. Sean is not a good shooter, as far as i know, so he will probably play mainly center on offense. I think he has to beat out Boone and Lopez, if he wants to play more...
Sean beat out Swift last year. He only gave up minutes once he ran out of stamina. Yes, I see Najera as a SF. Just because you're a tough guy doesn't mean you can't play a position out side of PF and C. Cpaw and others can speak more to this ex-Nugget, but I remember him have a perimeter oriented game (along with his ability to drive to the basket on occaision. His buckets down low were more hustle plays then they were him creating on the block.
This is so true. This is a VERY young team and we need to be patient. I understand no one wants to hear that, but be realistic, we are building for a championship, not winning one this year. He’s getting himself in the right position at the right times... This is the best news I've heard all offseason....
So Sean will be a 5 on offense, and a 3 on defense. as the most mobile basket cutter in DDM a 5, and the quickest big to guard 3's. Lopez, will play 4 on offense, 5 on defense as a 15ftr deadeye shooter with size at 4, and the best big in the draft a 5 Anderson / Yi will play 3 on offense, 4 on defense talented shooters who can drive to the basket, limited in defensive speed guarding slower fowards therefore 4's I think with all this Frank can and will eek out minutes for Sean
