Matter of opinion, and how you measure success. Reagan destroyed our economy, crippled worker's representation, workplace safety, and sent the cost of running government through the stratosphere by privatizing government without regard for performance or cost.
And some people say that the difference between a Democrat and a Republican is that a Republican asks, "Why does the government need to be involved?" while a Democrat will ask "Why wouldn't the government be involved?"
that's true. a friend of mine argues that the FDA should be abolished, and consumers should just sue if their family members die. I don't know where he stands on tort reform.
cept when it comes to gay marriage or who you, as an adult, decide to sleep with...or going to a doctor to help you take your own life when you're terminally sick...or what a woman does to her own body... that's no longer what the republican party does. republicans (as citizens) might be more that way, but not the party.
Unfortunately, I don't think Republicans actually govern as if they care about that question. At least not in this century. I wish they did. SR
Very true. Compassionate conservatism is merely big government matched up with faith. Small government Republicanism is dead.
Sadly, small government period is dead. It's the mindset I love most, less of them, more of us deciding for ourselves. Although obviously there has to be some laws that the Government enforces, etc. I love figuring out how to use bold.
