I'm not that worried about Portland's cap space, by the time they develop into a top tier team, we will be rebuilding again.
Thrilla said it. When the Blazers do become a force, we'll likely be either rebuilding and going one-and-out in the playoffs, at best. So what do we care about Portland's cap space? I don't want to do favors for Orlando, Philly, or Cleveland.
Allen is 33, KG is 32 and PP is 31 in Oct, in 2 yrs we'll be rebuilding unless LeBron takes a pay cut and replaces Allen otherwise we don't have any young guys who will be stars replacing the big 3. I sincerely don't think Ainge picked up Miles to screw over the Blazers. Rather it was to get an athletic swingman for cheap to come off the bench. If it was say the Hawks or Magic, then yeah I could see that logic.
I know they're getting older, but I'm saying once they're off the book, we'll have plenty of space to sign some new stars. Danny will do his magic.
Danny? magic? He capitalized on Kevin McHale's idiocy and Presti's eagerness to dump Allen anywhere he could. That's not magic.
not that sold on Ainge yet. He drafted some hit and miss players, got fleeced in some trades but seems to have gotten better at it of late. bottom line Ainge made the moves that won the C's #17 so he gets a break for the next 4-5 years IMO.
well, if they arent going to cut pruit or obryant(who has two years left), then that leaves miles as the odd man out. i have a feeling they cut pruit though. the silly thing is, the can just play him for 1 second 10 times, and it comes back on the books.
