Its common in MMA and boxing for fighters to weigh-in nude. Carano fails to make weight almost every fight, despite the fact at the 140-lbs weight class didn't exist--they made it just for her.
oh absolutely, they just need one towel though loads of guys drop 15-20 pounds to make weight and sometimes they just don't make it so they can drop a 1/2 pound or a pound to make weight by stripping down.
I never knew about this. haha So does that mean if Kimbo didn't make the weight, he could shave the beard?
yeah, but 265 is the limit and he's well under it. Now Lesnar... he does drop weight to make 265 !!!!
Why didnt they just weigh her in in a private dressing room if she needed to go in the nude? she seemed very uncomfortable stripping down infront of everyone. Also, I wish they would of fumbled the towel more.
I don't think here dad would do that weigh in's have to be public, I do believe, so there's no accusation of cheating. That or it's good publicity for a fight. I thought they would have given her an hour or so to make weight. They quite often do that.
Kurt Angle was an Olympic wrestler and he has talked about doing MMA, but his neck is so bad it would be a massive risk for him. Bobby Lashley is also in MMA now. Guys that trained in the Hart dungeon like Jericho, Benoit, etc., could also probably have been MMA fighters. Shoot and submission wrestling are part of the sport. Bret Hart has talked about MMA a bit, saying he never would've been able to do it but he respects the guys who do. Old school wrestlers from the 70's and earlier probably could've done it as well. Back then pro wrestling was much stiffer.
1 Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson vs. Ken Shamrock - Knockout, Round 1 2 Jake Shields vs. Paul Daley - Submission, Round 2 5 Andre Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson - Knockout, Round 1 3 Gina Carano vs. Kelly Kobald - Knockout, Round 2 4 Murilo "Ninja" Rua vs. Benji Radach - Submission, Round 2 6 Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos vs. Yoko Takahashi - Submission, Round 3
So guys like HHH, Orton, Cena, etc, would not be strong enough for mma? Benoit would have been nice to see fighting mma style.
they wouldn't be skilled enough. They're stunt actors that wrestle, it's waaaaaaaaay different than actual grappling and not the same type of toughness as getting punched in the face. Lesnar was a top shelf NCAA wrestler and Angle is world class.
