    speaking of O'Bryant..

if he can play 20-25 mins a night and not be a liability, that would be great IMO.

We were a little lacking in size off the bench last year, so PO'B playing well would be a huge help.

I think you have to give him a pass on his GS days because it was clear Nelson hated him.

But yeah guys, imagine if he can develop into a nice backup center, which can do quality minutes, night after night. It would mean he was a steal in the free agency.

I hope he does good for Boston and gets to start over Perkins if he player real good. I wish Nellie would have let him play because he actually seems like a player that will be good in the future.

If he and Perk could split the 48 minutes at the five, that would be amazing.

what are the flaws in his game that were so bad that mullin let him go for nothing? i would think he still has them.

Mullin hates centers which is one reason he didn't play him. He also hates young players. I guess he thought that POB didn't have a great work ethic and is lazy or maybe even soft. Those would be some of his flaws. And he doesn't have much experience playing in an NBA game as most of his minutes (if he got any) were in garbage time.

He definately played soft and the story on him is that he doesn't really like basketball (apparently he wants to be a chef, seriously). He went to Bradley becuase he told all the schools he didn't want to play. Their coach had to convince him to come out for the team.

That being said I always liked him. He is a definate shot blocking threat and a nice little baby hook. His rebounding is very poor but that could probably improve under Rivers (I can't really blame a young big for not being motivated by Nelson). He's got great length and a good frame that should be able to add some more weight.

If he decides to work, I think he could be better than Perkins.

So I see he's struggling to get minutes for you guys too. Why is that?

We don't get to watch practice, so we have no idea. It's weird to me that he and Gabe Pruitt don't get more minutes.

Then I guess he really does suck if two coaches don't want to play him. Or maybe his work ethic is bad.

The Celtics are a championship-caliber team, so I can understand why a 22 year old, inexperienced rookie has trouble logging minutes.

He's still a good pick up though. He's a young, cheap center with a lot of upside.
