Hey wats up every1, i was wondering...i got tickets for the nets open house tomorrow but i got them for will call. would anyone know where i pick the tickets up???
I believe you pick them up at the front doors of the gym, and bring proof of purchase with you...though I could be wrong.
If anyone talks to Carter, tell him that I am still challenging him to a footrace, and ask him why he's avoiding me.
Wish I could go this year, last year at FDU was pretty good. They allowed autographs last time. Remember to bring a canned good to get a free ticket! Sometimes if you bring two, you can sneek in two free tickets. =P
It was a fun event. Here's a rundown of what I was able to catch/other observations: Sean Williams was trying hard out there. Real hard. He seemed to be vocal at times, something we haven't seen last season. He was the first one out of the locker room and started working on shots right away, which says something to me. He was also very generous and grateful to the fans as well, signing things for quite some time after the event on both sides of the court. Stromile also seemed to be working hard. Maybe it's the competition of bigmen, maybe it's the contract year situation, or maybe it's because there's a chance he'll be traded, but he seemed to be hustling and trying hard on both ends of the floor. For someone who's just getting back into the swing of things, Yi didn't look too bad. He made some mistakes, obviously, but looked to be trying hard out there. He hit about 7 or 8 3 pointers in the 3 point contest, which wasn't enough to advance to the next round, but wasn't too bad for a big man hitting 3's. And this guy was MOBBED trying to leave the court, everyone wanted his autograph, and he did his best to sign nearly everyone's. Speaking of, Ryan Anderson was great. He can hit 3's for sure. Let's not forget CDR, who worked his butt of in the scrimmage and was a player in 2 competitions back to back- and won the 3 point shootout. Devin- what a pleasure to watch on the court. Can't wait to the season for him to play and let loose. Same with VC, who was there with his two little girls today, he was very dedicated to them. He took them out onto the court to watch the Nets dancers, too. His dunk was NASTY. To quote him, "wow" . I don't believe Najera, Dooling, or Hayes took part in the scrimmage, but I'm pretty sure they were practicing in the workout before the public one. I happened to talk to Najera a bit, he's a very nice guy. He took part in the shooting skills competition. I'm very happy the Nets have him on the team. Brook has a nice stroke which some fans were able to see in the practice before the scrimmage, and he had a few dunks as well too. And, as everyone has said, he's huge. Thorn and Kiki were there (as NI said, Kiki was taking shots early on too) , and it was nice to see Kerry Kittles there with his family enjoying the festivities. Anyone notice Jason Kidd's son there, taking part in the blockout game? That kid, as small as he is, had some fierce layups! It all went by so fast. I wanted to go to these things for years now, and finally, I got the chance to today. Would love to see what others thought about it, NI has a great writeup about it at netsdaily.com.
CDR won the three point shootout? wow. wasn't that supposedly his weakness coming out? Sounds good all around.
Why the hell is TJ still around? I read on NI's recap that he was even wearing a Mavs jersey too, wtf?
lol, yeah, from what I saw he had his own security guard too! His siblings were there too, and I believe their mother was too.
Haha, yeah it was really weird. My theory was that Vince Carter adopted TJ as his ward, like Batman adopted Robin. The kid Kidd really has some skills (nailed his first shot in knockout). The NBA is going to be amazing once him and Shawn Kemp's illegitimate children are all grown up.
Speaking of players' children, Vince has TWO girls? I thought he only had one from his now dissolved marriage. Did he (remarry and) have another one or could the second have been a niece or something?
