id like your thoughts on who has the best bench in the league. i vote Blazers, and i might be a homer here, but damn... some unproven rookies but alot of potential. i think all of these players could start on other teams. jerryd bayless rudy fernandez travis outlaw channing frye joel pryzbilla with ike diogu and sergio rodriguez rounding out the 12 active roster. not too shabby. lakers look good too farmar sascha walton/ariza vlad radmonavic mihm?
FYI Mihm says he is 100% and is fully participating in practice Also Mbenga and maybe Coby Karl (Lakers were talking about Livingston though...today)
I like the Lakers bench a lot (makes sense, since I'm a Lakers fan). They have really solid depth at every position, and if Odom goes to the bench and Ariza goes to the starting five, then it's even stronger.
Hm As I type this, a Blazers fan says the Blazers have the best bench. Then a Lakers fan recommends the Lakers. Then another Lakers fan recommends the Laker's bench. Shit, I'll vote the Nets!

Benches I like are the Lakers one (I'm a Laker fan). The Blazers bench because of the reasons that someone has already mentioned (potential and youth). I think Houston has a pretty decent bench, not stellar, but a solid one. Memphis is deep in its guard positions, they are all young and have alot of potential in Lowry, Crittenton, Mayo, Conley.
How about the Spurs? Kurt Thomas/Manu/Roger Mason/Jacque Vaughn/Bonner.....all them have certain roles and they feel them good, that's what a good bench is IMO, they do their roles. Who cares if you have talent,when you don't help the team?

what about my rockets battier landry dorsey barry francis head hayes deke (hopefully) and depending on coach adleman artest might be coming off the bench in place of battier in the starting lineup
aaron brooks barry battier landry deke is the winner so far imo as far as production and reliability.
Well the Rockets wont have the best bench after all of them will have to become starters due to injury
I was counting experience also, Vaughn and KT are some pretty crazy good vets. I disagree with KT=Pryz because KT can play pretty good post D, better than Pryz IMO. Kurt Thomas has been around the block awhile longer and isn't a reliability on the offensive end. The Spurs will probably have a 3 man rotation with Duncan, Oberto, and KT, with Bonner getting like 5-8 minutes on most nights, where all he has to do is be a body on the floor and shoot his 3's. But the only reason I'd go with the Spurs over Blazers is not because of talent, but experience and they know how to play. Plus their coach uses them just right every year, and always seems to find good combos.
It depends on how much you are depending on your bench. Phil uses his bench quite a bit actually. If they add Odom to the bench, that makes it interesting. I do like my Blazers bench though. With Rudy, Bayless and Travis Outlaw coming in, that is some firepower!
Ben Gordon, Andres Nocioni, and Larry Hughes make a pretty good bench. Tyrus Thomas, if he steps up, too.
Yes, I'm a homer, and yes, I neither know anything nor care about any other franchise, but I happen to think the Nets have a pretty deep bench this year--at least deeper than they've had since their finals days. Their problems lie with their starting frontcourt. On their bench, their two weaknesses appear to be that they don't have a traditional backup PG (they have Dooling, and possible Julius Hodge will make the team as a third-string PG), and a lack of experience among the reserves in the front court (no matter who ends up starting and who ends up on the bench). But, I mean, you can go with Keyon Dooling, Jarvis Hayes, Eduardo Najera, and Trent Hassell for starters. Bobby Simmons, too, if for some reason they use him off the bench. That's not a bad start. Then you've got a bunch of potential among the three rookies (Chris Douglas-Roberts, Ryan Anderson, Brook Lopez [if he isn't starting]), and then some combination of Josh Boone, Yi, and Sean Williams (at least one will probably start).
