Nash has won 2 MVP awards, saying if he didn't have D'Antoni is irrelevant. That's like saying if Stockton didn't have Jerry Sloan. He's my backup PG anyways.
Just needed someone to play SG. I really wanted Reggie Miller or Joe Dumars. But they both got snatched up, so looking at accolades of older and newer players, I thought T-Mac barring injury would be a good fit.

My team so far: PG Archibald SG West C Cowens SF Erving PF Walton Bench: Thompson 4x 30 PPG scorers, and they share the ball well, so the offense should be good. Archibald may be weak on D at the PG spot, but there's few guys his height or at the PG spot who'll match his assists and scoring combination. Cowens and Walton could swap positions, depending on the match up. Walton is 6'11 or taller, Cowens 6'9" Thoughts?
You've got a really tall lineup, and I think you have enough D to cover up for Tiny. West should lead that group imo. Thompson is a great start for building your bench. How about my team?
Denny, why do you need so much scoring from the PG position if you have West and Erving? I would have taken a more defensive minded player there. I have someone specifically in mind who was just as good as Archibald but different.
Archibald is the ultimate drive/kick guy who can also finish in the lane. 34 PPG / 11.4 APG is a pretty stunning indication of what he was capable of; he was injured the year Bird was drafted and then was their PG after recovering putting up 14.4 / 8.5 on that team that had the greatest worst to first in history. He's certainly a top-10 PG all-time...
That didn't really answer the question. I guess "because I like him and he was a steal where I took him" is as good a reason as any, though.
I do think he was a steal where I got him, and he'd be my #3 PG of all-time behind Magic and Big O. Why not have 5x 30 PPG scorers if you can in a draft like this?
I get why you picked Archibald, just wondering why you think scoring was an important factor for your starting PG.
