I actually think Ryan may end up starting at the 4 on Thursday. If we go by what Vince and the other vets have said, he's certainly the big who has been the star of camp offensively and not too shabby in other areas either. Check out Ben Couch's comments in his blog today.

I think it would be neat if Anderson did wind up the starting 4 this season just because he had so little hype pre draft. I'm still convinced that Boone will end up starting at the 5 (at least to begin the season), and he should be balanced with a better-shooting, offensively versatile 4, which means either Yi or Anderson.

I agree with this. Anderson will improve a lot over the season and his opportunities will increase.

My roster was for opening day.

Makes sense to me. I wouldn't have Hayes as the backup 2 though. He's been injured throughout camp, seems a little tall for the position, and if DDM is really becoming a big part of the offense, Frank will need 2 skilled penetrators. Dooling is not enough.

I thought the first game was on Thursday? (per Netsdaily)

Good point. Who else besides VC, DH, and Dooling can beat their man in a DDM? Don't we need shooters at the post and both wings to complement the driving guards when we play DDM?

remember, at least two players will always be hurt, and at least two players will suck and be out of the rotation by December 1. If Ryan plays hard, he'll get a chance.

Well, in my bench lineup, I used CDR as the backup 2 instead of Hayes. CDR obviously is very skilled in this offense and knows it the best out of anyone on the team.

Also Frank has said it will be part of the offense.

Lopez was drafted not for his defense. The guy is a low post offensive player. To say that they are not going to try to give him touches in the post as part of the offense to me would be a mistake.

Lopez will be used just like Nenad was. And I expect to see very, very little Dribble Drive offense if any at all.

Agreed. With personnel such as Yi, Lopez and even Sean Williams "improved jump shot," I expect to see a lot of pick and pop like Frank used with Krstic, Malik Allen, Mikki Moore etc. Mikki Moore pretty much built his contract off of that pick and pop offense with Carter and Kidd. If Yi, Lopez and Williams can hit their shots at a good rate it will open up the driving lanes more for Carter, Harris, CDR.

Bingo. That is what you will see. Maybe some offense through the guards in the post to take advantage of mismatches and an occasional iso at the end of quarters or in the last few minutes. Otherwise, pick and roll/pop and drive and dish all day.
