I like the Issel and Wilkens picks. These guys are known for their careers after their playing days were over, but they were both top athletes that would be effective in any era. Lots of skill from these two.

Just FYI, I'll be leaving town Thursday afternoon and not returning until Wednesday morning. gambitnut has agreed to make my picks for me based on a list that I'll be sending over to him shortly.

It would be a better selection than Bruce Bowen.

Bruce Bowen is excellent mainly, because like him or not he's one of the best perimeter defenders of all time............

D.J. was on my short list also....Bowen provides more length though and he's a better defender so I went with him....but D.J. will give you D, scoring, and clutch play............

I like your team building philosophy a lot better than the "superstar collecting" method.

But I cringed at this pick so early because there are a lot of great defensive players left that completely annihilate Bruce Bowen in every other facet of the game.

K.J. is a great choice........underrated as hell...........stats are similar to Chris Paul in his younger days........I used to hate playing him, because he'd always torch Kenny Smith and Sam I Am

You're correct....he's not the best offensive player, but I like his nastiness and ability to get into an opponent's head.....As good as a defender that he is now, I can't imagine how excellent he would've been in the 80's and 90's when they allowed more physical play...............plus he knows how to win....I like that...........

one of 3 players to average 20 and 12 in a season :D

steal of a pick now, health was his biggest issue as he was always pulling his hamstring.

and he's easily one of the 3 quickest players ever. He burned everyone, not just the Rockets ;)

    I can't figure out why he's not a HOF'er.
17.9 ppg, 9.1 apg (4th highest avg of all time) 49% FG and for Heuvon 20.7 PER .585 TS% too ;)

let's not get it twisted either. There are a lot of NBA players in the Hall who probably shouldn't be in there from the earlier decades. Their sole claim to fame is the fact that they played on a championship team. (you can fill in the blanks on that one)

In my thread about who's playing now that will make the HOF, I didn't want to mention KJ not being in or potentially spoil your draft pick.

Few players make it, the bar should be VERY high.

so are you saying he doesn't deserve to be there? Cause I'm thinking based on the current criteria he does. Although his scoring total is low, he was an explosive and unstoppable player who is one of the best passing guards of all time.
