Dana White is reportedly producing a television show for SpikeTV based on a power vacuum in the Boston mob scene following the abdication of the reigning boss.

White is from Manchester, Connecticut, but went to UMass and was a boxing manager/promoter in Boston as well (IIRC).

Expect the show to play out something like the Martin Scorsese-directed The Departed, but with a made-for-television slant. Dana White wants to push the envelope with what they can show on television but SpikeTV is notoriously retarded so we'll see how well that goes.

That's pretty cool. But if Dana White can learn something else from Vince McMahon's failures, it's that if you are busy and you take other projects, your money maker is going to suffer.

I think Dana is wanting to partner up with Spike to earn some extra cheddar and perhaps a different career if the popularity of MMA dies off.

I read that the writer from "The General's Daughter" is doing the script so it should have solid writing.

Reaks of Black Donnelly's which was produced and written by Paul Haggis. Same concept, got cancelled by NBC after a short while. I think every Spike original series has failed. Blade, The Factory...I think the only that did well was the mini series with Donnie Whalberg and John Leguizamo.
