I don't think so... Batum is way too raw right now and really has no jump shot that he's confident in.
My issue with Bayless isn't with skills...it's attitude. It's the same issue I had with Jack last year...good player, good guy, not the mind of a PG. He doesn't look for cutters, he's not initiating offense, doesn't seem to have the thought process. I hope I'm wrong.
FanFest. Exhibition Game One. Exhibition Game Two. That's it. For a me-first gunner whose only legit skill is instant offense, I haven't seen Instant Offense from Travis yet. Anybody else seen something I missed?
No, I agree. I posed it more as a rhetorical question ... the kid looks pretty comfortable out there and really seems to have a good sense of fitting into a team concept. Trav is just having an off night.
This is what, his 2nd game against legit NBA competition? I'd say he has done just fine given the expectations. Jack had been in the league for a bit, give Bayless some slack.
Bayless just turned 20 in the last two months. He's on a rookie contract. Why on earth would we try to move him? Ed O.
I think Travis realizes that he needs to do more than just score in order to be successful with this team ... unfortunately tonight he's had nothing going with his offense which makes everything else seem worse. I only took exception to your comment when you said "so far this year" 5 days is way too small of a sample to make a judgment about anything.
Oden needs to get more burn. just to run up and down the court....get some fouls, etc....needs to play under pressure.
It's OK to say "Fuck" and "Goddammit" ... but he walked off without limping too much, so hopefully it's nothing serious.
