http://www3.signonsandiego.com/weblogs/chargers/2008/oct/07/jammer-upset-officiating/ He'll be fined, no doubt, but whatever. That pass interference penalty was such bullshit. At that time in the game, the Chargers had taken control of the momentum. The penalty gave everything back to Miami. I agree with Jammer, a lot of pass interference flags need to be picked up if it is obvious that the ball is uncatchable.
I'd like to make pass interference reviewable, and if it is obvious there was or wasn't a penalty, then a ref should act accordingly. It is already a judgment call anyway, so I don't see why this shouldn't occur.
Pass Interference is one of the hardest calls to judge, and consequently, one of the ones they get wrong the most. He'll get fined, for sure. Didn't see the call so I cannot judge on it. And yes, it should be reviewable given the extent of the damage such a call can make.
It was pretty bad. I mean, there was no way he was going to catch that ball. They then huddled up and discussed it. That right there...with a couple refs saying that it was offensive pass interference/uncatchable and a few saying it was on Hart, should've been enough to say that it was uncatchable. I hope they fix the ruling soon.
Can't find one, but the Chargers shouldn't have put themselves in the position to leave momentum up to the referees again.
