i just find it incredible that there's this huge deal about Yi and Brook and there potential, yet they dont see the light of day in pre-season, i don't care if they completely blow at the moment, they need to play and develope.
these commentators need to stop lickin wades n beasly's ass they barely mentioned CDR n that guy had the flu he was that sick CDR gotta start!!
First half observations: Harris looks terrible with the turnovers. I'm not worried, though. VC steady but looked like he banged hips with Marion or something. Wonder if he will play 2nd half. Anderson looked good on offense (sans one airball) and had a nice pickoff to start a fast break which he finished with a dunk. Sean not having much impact beyond a couple of rebounds. Harris' passes weren't the greatest, but neither were Sean's hands. No Yi and no Lopez yet. ??? CDR easily the most impressive Nets performer in the first half. A flurry of drive and fade jumpers in the lane that swished, a nice catch and shoot jumper from 18. A great pickoff for a breakaway reverse dunk. If this isn't a fluke, steal doesn't begin to describe drafting him at 40.
Are you gentlemen aware that this is the first game in preseason, that it is taking place two days after what was the longest flight in many of these kids' life, that Yi has had only four days of practice, and that a player drafted at #40 has 14 points in the first half? If Yi and Lopez don't play in the second half, I have to assume they are hurt and Frank doesnt want to chance further injury.
I'm guessing that Yi isn't quite ready to play yet. But I expect that the minutes distribution will be quite different during the game in London. Swift and Gill are getting a chance to play today, but I suspect that they will be replaced by Lopez and Hodge. Anderson will probably be replaced by Yi, if he is ready. Also, remember that this is their FIRST preseason game. The coaching staff has to evaluate everyone, and will do it methodically over several weeks. CDR does look good, though.
Not sure. He banged hips with Marion on a screen. A couple possessions later he hit an acrobatic baseline fadeaway and grimaced going down the court. He fouled Wade on the next play and signaled to the bench for a substitution. Not sure if he landed wrong on the jumper (didn't appear to) or if it was the hip. We'll know if it's anything to be worried about if he plays second half.
19 pages in that game thread already... no way in hell im touching that. Maybe Yi is hurt or something.
