Complaining about the rotations in preseason is idiotic. Also, these game threads won't be free-for-alls this year. Fair warning.
What does that even mean? From the looks of the posts, it looks like everyone was posting about the game, and no body was getting out of hands talking about other stuff. Dont know why you would be threatening a pretty good thread.
Ok, i caught the 4th quarter and OT. Good win by the nets! will this game be relayed? my observations from what i saw are: CDR is the real deal, gill played ok when i saw him. Anderson is as advertised. Boone played great! ( although i didn't see shoot a foul shot, but he did hit a nice midrange.) Haskell sucked, hope he improves. Swift showed me a little more than i expected. Ager is useless. Why are people here complaining about frank already? He has a completely new team and he has said on numerous occisions he is expermenting with the lineup. Do you people undersand its pre-season? Do you people understand this is when a coach evaluates players? Or, do you just have some sort of agenda to get frank fired? Well Rod Thorn doesn't read your posts, and he's not going to fire frank, so get over yourselves, and go do your homework now, or maybe your hs dropouts. Such stupidity! A very good win for the nets. I like the defensive intensity which means Frank has his stamp all over the team. I'm impressed with the new offense, alot less stagnant, and 100 pts is a very good sign. nets 1-0~~ oh yeah, go nets!!
It means we won't be shooting anyone in the face with a shotgun. I agree that this crowd is fine so far, but you don't know how many PMs I got last year complaining about these game threads. Just warning those who can't control themselves.
Nets won? I thought they lost by a point. Cook hit that 3 even though it was 2 because he had a toe on the line and the refs didn't catch it. And then Ager missed a shot for the win. So the refs went back to review it and took away a point and they played overtime? I thought the Nets lost and turned it off at the end of the 4th quarter. Missed overtime. Well, thankfully they won. CDR was great this game.
The Nets in the final minutes of the 4th and the beginning of OT were left to be desired. Hassell having the ball with CDR out there for the final play of the 4th was inane. I get you on people with an agenda, but Frank has seen Hassell play enough last year to know he shouldn't have the ball at that time. It was a good win, but a game that shouldn't gone to OT. Let's be fair here.
The game is being replayed on NBA TV at 6:30pm pacific. That could mean 9:30pm eastern, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have the channel set up so it plays consistently across the time zones (and is also on at 6:30pm in the east coast).
Just watched the game today. Some notes: -CDR was playing confident basketball and did very well. I don't expect that kind of contribution from him for the whole season, but if he can give us a 15-20 point performance once in a couple of games I would be ecstatic. -Sean Williams looked lost out there. His shot selection was HORRIBLE. He always shot an awkward hook shot because he spun away from the basket. Bad. His block on Wade and his hustle were the only bright spots, IMO. -Stromile Swift was horrible as well. His mid-range shot is way off, he jumps to block every shot like a rookie would and he doesn't seem to give it his all. For example: one play, Swift gets the ball around the 3 point line and loses control of it. He calmly turns around with no sense of urgency whatsoever, and by the time he bends down to reach for the ball a Heat player takes it from him. -Devin Harris was impressive. His driving ability is great, shot isn't but he doesn't really need it. He tried some fancy passes which didn't go too well but I don't think that would have happened if this were a regular season game. -Boone missed some layups, but he hustled, grabbed boards and fixed his mistakes. -Anderson looked kinda slow and repetitive on his drives. He needs to get used to NBA range, obviously, but from what I've seen NBA 3 pointers shouldn't be too much of a problem for him. -I don't know why you're all ragging on Gill. Sure, he made some mistakes but he's a 3rd stringer. What did you expect?? He held his own and his experience showed. He hit some key shots which helped us win. -VC looked pretty good before going down. He didn't settle for jumpshots and played the kind of basketball we want him to. He also shut down Wade on defense on a few occasions. -Bobby Simmons was horrible. No need to go into details. -Hassell and Ager are scrubs. Ager hit one important shot and screwed up everything else, Hassell tried to be the leader and failed, numerous times. Also: is it just me or does Chalmers look sorta like Jamaal Magloire? Maybe I'm going crazy...
