Only one Nets game will be televised nationally in the US, but FIFTY will be televised nationally in China...reports NY Times in lengthy piece on Nets' marketing to China and Chinese Americans. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/09/sports/basketball/09nets.html?ref=sports
I think Sean William-Operation:World Domination works better. because we can then use the phrase sWOWd. When Sean's D and slam dunks make everyone say WOW, the mission will be complete.
Since we're on a chinese topic lol I still think that Chinese basketball players need to get angry when they play. I mean I'm sure they are passionate about basketball, but I mean, get nasty! I'm a Chinese kid (both mother and father from Shanghai) born here in Southern California. When I play ball, I'm cussing left and right when good and bad happen. I get mad at myself when I miss layups, I cuss loudly when I make a tough shot with contact. I talk loudly with my teammates and everything, yet when I was watching the chinese national team play during the summer (I watched all games), they were mostly quiet. I don't know it's just been something that bothers me. Can't wait to go to Taiwan this winter break with the family and girlfriend, I wanna play pickup games there...see how it is, just to see if it's a local boy thing or just the national team that is quiet.
i know its off topic, but how is the futebol (soccer) scene in China ? is it like basketball every where now ?
football is most popular sport not including table tennis or badminton but all the chiense football teams suck so yeah... basketball is right up there too.
This will help attract free agents to the Nets. Exposure is worth more than a pretty penny -- it's worth huge shoe deals and other endorsements! -Petey
I know that TMac became a big favorite in Taiwan once Yao got to Houston, wonder which Net will get the boast...outside of VC, who is already big in Taiwan. Dev, Lopez, SWAT? Even Battier was able to parlay the Yao relation into his Peak shoes contract. When I was in Taiwan, they played that Battier commercial during every break.
I'm just guessing here, but i'm thinking outside of VC, Yi is already big in Taiwan... also who cares about taiwan? The shoe contracts come from china. Half of the rockets have chinese shoe contracts as well as the head coach and the team is sponsored by a chinese shoe company.
If Vince has a nice season you can pretty much expect him to start the All-Star game, hopefully hes okay.
