Word out of Philly is that Andy Ried is holding Brian Westbrook out of Thursdays game, along with two time pro-bowl G Shawn Andrews, and WR Reggie Brown. Westbrook, who has two broken ribs from last weeks game, could undoubtedly torch the niners on two broken feet "Brian wants to go. He's in the mind-set that he wants to play, but it's a decision that I've got to make," coach Andy Reid said Friday. "He's a tough nut and I know that. I've got to do what I think is best for him and the football team down the road. It made the decision a little easier for me than it is for him. Obviously, he wants to contribute and compete." In my opinion, Correll Buckhalter should also be able to knife through the niners porous defensive line like an iron chef. while he doesnt have the shifty, start and stop, big play ability of Westbrook, he does have a knack for stepping up in Westbrooks absence. oh well, i was looking forward to possibly having the most embarrassing weekend ever, with Westbrook returning 7 punts for TD's. Worse even than that weekend i spent with my grandma at a Tijuana star trek convention, only to witness my ex-girlfriend making sand castles with "Jorge" on the beach. And by sand castles i mean babies. it was more like a week actually. also good thing Andy Lee can punt so damn far, because when his leg gets tired after the 20th punt of the game, he can still go 40 yards. Thats right, our punter is the x-factor. we rule. credit to AP for the quote.
LOL, sounds like a rough week. Take away the big plays downfield for Philly.... make them march down the field. Without Westbrook, this becomes much harder. Philly is about stretching defenses vertically and Westbrook. Take away both (Westbrook is already taken care of), and the game is very winnable.
