When was the last time the Giants made an in-season trade? I don't even remember one. I hope this is true!

    That is a scary thought.

What would be the asking price? I'm assuming it'd be a less than fair trade if Gonzalez is putting pressure on the team to deal him.

    I'd guess a 4th rounder.

That sounds great! Swap out Shockey and a 4th for Gonzalez and a 2nd.

I was just thinking the same thing. That'd be a ridiculous trade-off.

If Reese pulls that off, they should put him in the Hall of Fame for having the best year-and-a-half of any GM in history.

Well the Chiefs are actually trying to unload Gonzalez. A second rounder for Shockey was a little much, IMO.

The Giants turned down that deal before the draft. They only traded Shockey because he was pulling a Manny and forcing his way out.

Jesus, that isn't fair. Giving Eli another solid target to throw to? They've already got arguably the deepest WR core in the league, Boss isn't to bad himself, and you can't forget the backfield horse in Brandon Jacobs. Adding Tony Gonzalez to that mix is just fuckin' scary.

I don't get why teams covet draft picks, so much. I understand if it is a 1st or 2nd rounder, but there is so much talent out there that can easily replace that draft pick. Pull the trigger on the deal, give up the 3rd rounder.

The Giants have two 2nd rounders!

Why wouldn't they trade a 3rd rounder for this kind of upgrade?

    Don't do it.

    Its a terrible move.

Gonzalez is...... um...... old. And..... its ....... a 3rd rounder....... and........ Boss is great.

Yeah. I got nothing. I'll be seriously pissed if this happens.

Apparently Gonzalez actually wants to go to the Giants. He's specifically asking to be traded to us. I really hope Reese jumps on this opportunity. The deadline's at 4 PM today, so if anything happens it'll happen in the next few hours.

There are some rumors about trading Moss and a 5th or 6th for Gonzo.
