No. This thread isn't designed to seriously discuss this matter. Rather, its to prove a point.

    http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MariDa00.htm
    http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RomoTo00.htm

    Romo's TD% is 6.0
    Marino's TD% is 5.0

    Romo's INT% is 3.5
    Marino's INT% is 3.0

Marino passed a lot. Romo passes a lot. Marino's team needed to score a lot of points to offset its defense. Romo's team needs to score points to offset its defense.

Wait Vintage.... you mean to tell me... when you throw the ball a lot, turnovers happen?

    Yep.

Haters are going to hate, no matter what. A common sense NFL fan knows that when you throw the ball a lot, especially downfield, you're going to turn it over, as well. Brett Favre is the perfect example for this. Throw the ball more = more turnovers, like you said.

Tom Brady is the exception to the rule, of course.

Can't be an exception if Peyton is included too.

You also have to consider the average QB rating back in those days. That makes Marino's stats more comparable to now (not a huge boost but it helps; I've seen pro-football-reference do the calculations that's why I mention this).

The only issue with Dan is that he dipped a lot after his early years, oh well. He's still freaking awesome.

Manning is 1 INT every 39 passes since after his rookie year... Since he won his first MVP he's taken his game to another level too, 1 INT every 47-48 attempts over 5 years. No one is ever going to touch that 9.9 TD% in 04 either.

Adjusted yards per pass is the best qb rating system I've heard of though. :] Yards per pass is probably the most important single factor, p-f-r goes into it deeper.

Brady is one pick every 44 passes after his rookie year.

Uh ok... His yards per pass was horrific until 2004... Since then I'd defend my guy over anyone, but Brady is a HOFer too of course, you're a Boston guy so I understand.

Peyton makes the biggest leap discounting his rookie year, that's why I mentioned it (575 attempts). :P

Of course I thought he changed drastically when he reached his prime as well, same thing with Brady. I thought Brady was just good or a game manager, then he showed me he was great as the years went on.

Peyton was much more aggressive early on. At their peak in ideal situations I thought 2004 was simply a better year too. Bird/Magic debate really. :P

Yards per pass doesn't factor in play calling. Charlie Weis/Bill Belichick/Josh McDaniel heavily rely on screen passes. Their completion % is almost identical, but Peyton's completions go for more yards. This has a lot to do with Brady not having a single deep threat WR until 2007. The 2 best WRs he played with before Moss were both 5'9". Plus, Brady bangs much hotter chicks and has won more Super Bowls.

But yeah, we've done Brady vs. Manning way too many times to do it again, let's let the Cowgirls have their thread back.
