who do you guys think will most likely become our 3rd scoring option this year???

...with the scoring liabilities of JKidd and Collins out of our lineup this year and the availability of better shooters and strength in the paint, there are less chances for double teams on our consistent scorers and more chances to spread the D.

Who is most likely going to step up this year and help us put points on the board consistently to make up for the loss of RJ???

Among our newly signed FA vets who do you guys think will have increased productivity???

I feel as if Keyon will make the biggest contribution among our new vets...

Also, from the two preseason games, it is evident that decreasing TOs has to be among our top priorities...

...what players on our team do we trust most to handle the rock??

It's very encouraging to see Yi step up like he did in his first game with us.

Off the bench, I'd keep my eye on how CDR fits, and I still remain intrigued by Jarvis Hayes.

Yi is definitely frontrunner for our 3rd leading scorer, and he will get the ball that much.

Hayes' productivity will increase the most over his last year, mainly due to a big increase in playing time. Dooling will be the most productive overall, though.

Vince and maybe Dooling are the only guys I'd really trust with the ball.

As NI said in another thread, Yi has none of the confidence issues he showed in the Olympics. During the London game, he showed swagger and perseverance and an amazing touch from the wings and inside. He's gonna be the 3rd leading scorer.

And it depends on what you mean by productivity. If you mean +/-, I agree it'll probably be Dooling among the FA vet signings. I don't have confidence in Jarvis' health, and Simmons has only looked average at best.

I think Yi will be the frontrunner for the third scoring option spot. If he is consistent, he can even compete for the Most Improved Player award...but that is just my personal opinion, but I don't think it's a reach either. Especially if he can up his rebounding numbers ALONG with his scoring.

The difference between Yi now and the Olypmics is pretty crazy but i fully contribute that to the fact that hes got a pretty good pg and a sg that passes just as well, if not better then a pg in Vince. This is going to get Yi the ball in places where he can score and help build his confidence, as where in the olympics you had no ball movement and he was forced to createhis own shot just about every touch he had.

I think Yi will definitely be our third option but I'm more excited about our fourth option, who I think will be Brook Lopez. Yi does look completely different playing with Vince. He's wide open on a lot more plays and much more decisive. I'm impressed that he's not shocked that he's so wide open because there is stark different between his teammates during the Olympics and this Nets team which, turnover issues aside, seem to have great chemistry on Defense and help each other out very well. But the fact that I'm even talking about a low post option at center in Brook Lopez gets me very excited and we could possibly have lineups in there where we have 5 scoring options! No Jason Collins defenses! Remember when he used to set the pick last year for Kidd or VC and the guard just got immediately double teamed because Collins was so poor on offense? This is... awesome....

This nets team really does have alot of potential for the future!!! chingd15...i completely agree that it was always so frustrating watching the D double our shooters when Collins set the pick...

With Collins and Kidd on the court, we knew what Carter and Jefferson were destined for night in and night out --> gettin suffocated by the D.

Yi really seems to be smooth on those picks...he has a big body that the defender really gets caught up in...if he can consistently hit the pop...it's gonna be ill.

here's to hoping that Brook can produce as well this year....if we can get consistent productivity from VC, Harris, Yi, and Lopez...this team for sure has a bright future in store.

man this new nets team is exciting...I cant wait to go to the game on thursday!!! It was so sweet that they were just handing out mad tickets for the celtics game at the open house...

between me, my brother, and our 3 little cousins we got 11 tickets for us n our friends to go...cant wait!

I think you are going to see a team like the 2001-2003 teams where the scoring is more balanced. Any given night someone maybe the 3rd option.
