With Chicago nearing salary cap hell, and a situation with Ben Gordon wanting a new contract and looks to be a better fit along side Derrick Rose in the Bulls future I was thinking Minnesota should make a move.

A possible deal I see is Minnesota making a deal for Hinrich.

With Hirich making 10 to 8 mil a year for the next 4 years (10, 9.5, 9 & 8mil regressing contract) that would be the only issue to a team like 'Sota who is in need of a PG.

Sota could make out very good in this deal seeing how Chicago needs to create cap space and Minnesota has some expiring contracts along with draft picks to make it work.

    I propose this:

Kirk Hinrich (10mil a year over 4 years)

    for

Brian Cardinal (6.5mil a year over 2 years)
    Calvin Booth (1mil exp year)
    future 1st Round pick

    How it helps:

Minnesota - This trade will give the Wolves the solid performer from the PG spot they so desperatly needed. Only problem with this is that his contract lasts for the next 4 years, but with the contract ending for many other Wolves before the big free agent class of 2010 (ie; Collins 6mil, Miller 9.8mil & Madsen 3mil) 'Sota will still have plenty of "wiggle" room to hunt down a great free agent. As for giving up the pick...Minnesota has a total of 5 first rounders over the next couple years, the loss of one won't hurt them too bad...lol.

Chicago - This is all about saving money and getting some room to resign Gordon along with bringing in young talent. Cardinal's contract ends just in time for the 2010 season and Booth's a year before that, the extra money will lift a serious burden. With the pick Chicago adds a young player to help in thier youth movement...or trade fodder to add to any Nocino deal. If push comes to shove the Bulls can push for a front court youngster to add muscle...Richards maybe?

Please feel free to hit me back with any thoughts on this deal...just speculation....but fun none the less...
