I'm glad you went with "MIXUM" instead of "mixum". Suits you better. You're more of an "all caps" kind of guy.

Btw--have you thought about going with MIXIM instead? Not only is it a palindrome, it probably represents some cool roman number. (I'm too lazy to figure it out.)

I've often thought about changing my handle to "MOOM" for palindromic reasons, but every time I look at it all I see are lightening bolts (M) pointing at breasts (OO). Just too distracting.

Anyway, this thread isn't about me, as hard as I try to make it so. Welcome aboard.

He was one of the original Nash-bashers. He and I were two of the few who didn't buy into the job that PatterNash was doing, and I think it's pretty easy to argue that we were right.

I disagree, if it hadn't been for the horrendous dealings of those two, they'd never have been fired and we wouldn't have Kevin Pritchard as our GM (not too mention all of the players he drafted).

Exactly. It's like Dubya--everybody talks about what a horribly failed conservative he was, but once he's gone a lot of us liberals are going to love him. Who else could've so effectively brought us to this new era of socialist utopia, where everything from prescription drugs to education to banking is managed by our dear leaders? Not to mention the groundwork of failure he's laid out that makes it easier to create socialized medicine for all.

Patternash and Dubya are like your retarded little brother who runs around the house pouring gallons of kerosene on everything and then lighting as many matches as possible. You find it annoying at the time, but they force you to realize that you really didn't like that house much anyway.

First a big hello to ED, ABM, and MOOK. I always liked ED-O since we always agreed that patternash was a complete disaster. I remember the days when blazer fans would sit there and call bassy, victor, monia and jack the future. I always said that the day nash was gone, the blazers would begin healing and it happened much quicker because of our lotto luck and pritchard (who has done a brilliant job). It always pained me to have all of you think i was a troll because i love the blazers and hate to see them lose. i watched every garbage game from 04-06 so i suffered just as much as any blazer fan. When we hired nash...we simply hired a complete and utter loser. It angered me to see fans support that fool. Anyway hes gone and hopefully so is our playoff drought.

As far as this year goes, my thoughts are these.

    1. Playoffs are a must. Fanbase has been hearing wait till next year too long. I dont care if we get swept in round 1...we need playoffs.

    2. SF is a major problem with webster out. To be fair I never liked webster (nash pick gagging) and dont know how he became such a solid defender. It seems like everything i read on him...experts gush about his defensive play. Maybe all our other defenders are horrible? joke. Anyway i really would like to see us trade for a vet SF type who can score and play solid defense. We BADLY need this with our young players. This would put us easily in the 2nd round of playoffs this year. Honestly i doubt we resign webster anyway so maybe its time to trade him for a proven SF. Outlaw is Zach part 2 with beter behavior. Batum is a nice player but nowhere near ready to start unless we want another season of NO playoffs.

    3. Oden still scares me. I feel like everytime i watch him...hes about to get hurt. With that said..if he stays healthy....we will contend every year.

    4. Love Rudy...and theres not much more to say. Same goes for Roy.

    5. Not sold on Bayliss yet. Not sold on any of our PGs. Infact i dont think this team can win a championship until SF and PG are upgraded. Those 2 positions will hurt us this year. Hopefully not enough to miss the post season. One of major problems last year was terrible defense against players wing players. theres a reason we struggled against teams like Sac town, Indiana, Seattle etc. Guys like Durant, Martin, Granger, Gay kill us cause nobody on our team can guard them if their lives depended on it.

Anyway i think we get the 7th seed but realize at some point...WE BADLY NEED A SF! GO BLAZERS!

Btw....dont let H*p read this! Hes still hoping Nash comes back in a smaller role.

With the exception of the Wallace trade which I called a complete disaster, I didn't openly bash Nash while he was GM. But I was constantly crossing my fingers that there was some method to his madness which was outside my view that would make sense of his moves down the line. I was far from supportive of his drafts, trades, or signings which put me in the small anti-Nash boat as well. The only thing I recall supporting Nash on was signing Joel to a cheap FA deal.

I also recall Mixum's over the top posts and the ridiculous poster bashing that always seemed to follow. Though I often spoke up in defense of his right to express his opinion, I'm hoping we don't have a repeat of that whole ugly song and dance.

I also disliked Nash- I was probably one of the biggest believers in Bonzi on the board and I hated watching our team get stripped of talent.

That said- I did have high hopes for Telfair and liked some of the other moves that Nash made.

I'm very glad to have Pritchard.

thats not the point. the point is...me and ed-o screamed for months about how bad nash was. most posters defended that fool and said i had no idea what i was talking about. Be patient was all i heard post after post. A blind man could see nobody on our roster would ever amount to anything. Nash collected garbage and shoved it down our throats. All we heard was the word "POTENTIAL" which drove me nuts considering half these kids with "POTENTIAL" never live up to it. Its like lets pass on Chris Paul cause Nash LOVES websters "POTENTIAL".

Gimmie a break....nash passed on Paul and Williams cause we had BASSY! Are you guys kiddin me? Then tries telling us Jarret Jack was as highly rated as Paul n Williams. Anyone else laughing out there? Well why the heck are we drafting a PG In Jack if we already have Bassy? How about taking one of the two stud point guards and then reaching for a SF. I will give nash credit for passing on the other high school SF (forgot his name) but boston took him. At least webster hasnt been a total bust. Hes a decent defender.

and tlong...its good to hear ya! You were def a nash basher.

If we hadn't nuked Japan a couple of times, they wouldn't have transformed politically and economically into the world power they are today.

Should Japan be happy that they got nuked?
