Baylor's different. He did a shitty job as an actual decision maker in the Clippers organization. Cousy just did about 10 games (if that) a season as an occasional third voice on the broadcast. Nothing he needed to be fired from.
Yeah but at the same time how long did they keep Baylor on their staff? Over 20 years right? Its not like he was ever amazing at his job, but now to fire him all of a sudden didn't make sense to me. They should have given him an ultimatum concerning his performance a long time ago rather than firing him out of the blue, then they wouldn't be going to court.
This is the beginning of "The Cousy Curse". In 2064 people will point to this as the reason the Celtics never won again.
I don't forsee it as a curse, it wasn't the organization that let him go.. in fact they said he had a position with the organization for life. Sure you may decide to let a legend of the game like Cousy go, but do it with some fucking class.
