Think someone set him up like that or was he making a joke on his part? You're right, if that is the case, poor taste on the other guys part (for setting him up). -Petey
it sounds like he was set up, that his appearance on the playground was for a special olympics function, and that Stuart Tanner and his buddies portrayed him as a disabled kid in order to score the one-on-one.
I mean, think about it; Devin wouldn't just show up at a London playground; he had to have been there as a part of some community-oriented function.
Yup, but there could had been many reasons for it. Won't expect someone to say it was for handicapped kids to setup someone like that. Really classless. -Petey
well, I'm guessing that the function itself went on as planned, and then at the end he was asked if he would play one of the handicapped kids in one-on-one. It;s probably unlikely that Devin was brought to the playground under false pretenses; those appearances were set up far in advance.
What's classless about assuming a Special Olympics participant wouldn't beat an NBA starting PG in basketball?
I have half-a-mind to send a letter to Tanner's Nanna, and tell her what a dreadful chav he is. But to tell you the truth it bloody well serves Devin right. It's all just a bit dodgy if you ask me. Buggery
I don't think you can call it 'playing' if he was standing in front of someone who he was told was 'special' as in retarded. Devin said he got confused for a second when he saw he had a handle on the rock, and before he realized what was going on it was over and the other retards were laughing.
I might have taken it the wrong way. But if he was making a joke about 'kids with special needs', that's lower than what his buddy Josh Howard just did in saying about the National Anthem. It's not like kids with those impairments choice to be born, grow up or live that way. -Petey
I think you took it the wrong way. I think he just wanted to interact with one of the kids, and feels taken advantage of.
