Hmmmm....I wonder, if Portland exceeds expectations (like, we win our division) and Roy fills up the stat sheet like we know he can (let's say 20pts 7rbs 7assists kind of numbers) could he be in the running for MVP?
That would not be enough IMO, not when guys like CP3 are getting 20+ points, and 12+ assists, or Lebron, Kobe, et. al. are able to put up close to 30 while also dishing and pulling down boards. I wouldn't be surprised if B-Roy's stats were something close to 19 pts, 5 boards and 8 assists this season, which would be great.
Ya, I think this is going to be to much of a unselfish team play team for anyone to get MVP except for maybe Oden which I think is in his future, but probably not this year.
During our win streak last season I think it was ESPN.com that had Roy listed as a potential MVP candidate if we ended up dominating the rest of the season. If we somehow win like 60+ games next year and Roy is our leader he will be in contention for the MVP, but a player who puts up more stats will win.
