He was asking Obama for business advice. Specifically, if I do buy this small business, what is my motivation to succeed if I make over $250k a year?

My primary concern for cascading taxation, the incentive to succeed is met with a punishment of that success. Its why there will be little to no innovation or incentive to innovate in a socialist america.

While the masses are placated, the means of production are controlled by the government. There is no incentive for private individuals to succeed, they become nameless proletariat.

I've read what he writes, and I've listened when he talks.

The problem with Joe the Plumber, is that the Joe the Plumber that got debated was a caricature. The real Joe the Plumber is helped by Obama's tax plan, not hurt by it. Joe the Plumber would be taxed more under McCain than under Obama.

He doesn't have a business that makes over $250k a year, so it's a mute point. The business he is talking about only makes about $100k a year, and he's not even in a position to buy that company.

He hasn't released his 2007 returns yet.

Michelle got a $200k raise shortly after Barack became a US senator. Coincidently, the hosptial got a $1 million grant.

Also, who bought Obama's books? Was it because he wasn't a Senator?

And under Obama's plan, its more advantageous for him to stay at 40k a year. The wealth will be redistributed to him, instead of him having to take a chance to start a small business.

Yes, very fearful here. I'm concerned that we might not get more than 400 electoral votes.

You know more about Joe the Plumber than you know about Obama.

    Is that odd?

I don't follow. I think it would be more advantageous for him to be making $250k a year instead of $40k a year, but that's just me.

Risk/reward ratio. There is inherent risk in starting a small business. If the risk/reward ratio is increased, then the potential small business owner leans towards staying in mediocrity.

No. It's not vetting. But you can still learn a lot more about him than you know about Joe Plumber by reading them.

    Have you read the books?

    No.

I haven't read any McCain books either, if they exist.

Still, I have to wonder about a guy who has written two books about himself, at least one before he became a US Senator.

And I still don't think he wrote Dreams of My Father on his own.

You haven't read the book, but you have an opinion on who wrote it?

McCain, fyi, has "written" several books, except they were all written by Mark Salter, and they don't sound anything like McCain.

    Obama's books sound like Obama.

Yeah. RCP has 286 safe/lean Obama. 364 with no toss ups.

Pollster has 313 safe/lean Obama. 364 with no toss ups.

Electoral-Vote.com has 352 safe/lean Obama. 367 with no toss ups.

Zogby has 273 safe/lean Obama. 344 with no toss ups.

MSNBC has it at 264 safe/lean Obama.

CNN has it at 277 safe/lean Obama.

When all except one has Obama having enough to win the election in the lean/safe category to win the electoral college, the opposing candidate has a big problem. The TV stations are the most conservative, but even CNN has moved Virginia into the leans Obama category, and I'm sure MSNBC will follow soon.

But then again, Obama only is at 228 on the O'Reilly factor map. Apparently his 15 point lead in Iowa isn't enough to put it in the leans Obama category.

People don't understand this. My dad was fortunate to sell his stake in his "small business" when it became evident that it could only sustain a single owner.

Not really, but your mind is made up, and I don't care to do the research that is readily available for you.

So instead, keep smearing Joe the Plumber and keep clinging to your false polls.

You say Obama's books don't sound like Obama, yet you haven't read them?
I'm thinking you aren't very serious about any of this.

    Will do.
