I'm not surprised by this, but I'm disappointed. Bynum & Gasol need as much time on the court together as possible.
I'm not that surprised they haven't gotten it together yet, it was not going to be an easy process. Anyone who thought you can just slot Bynum into center and expect everything else to work its magic were mistaken. It was a process that was going to take some tinkering to work out. Throughout the season, I expect to see the Bynum and Gasol lineup in action, even if the two don't start alongside each other. I do expect though, that midway through the season, it will be worked out and Bynum and Gasol will both be starters.
Apparently, Bynum is playing at the level he was playing at the beginning of last season. I guess PJax and the coaches want Bynum to start off the season coming off the bench, get his confidence with the 2nd unit, get his conditioning back and eventually get back to the beast he was prior to getting injured. During this month he'll probably practice with Gasol and I'm sure they'll see time on the court together during stretches of games during the regular season. BTW - Executives around the league have taken notice of Farmar. They're projecting him to be a top 10 PG in the league this season and eventually surpass Fisher as the Lakers everyday starter.
Goddamn... I knew something was up when I saw him in that Adidas clip playing with all the superstars! I'm not doubting Farmar, but based on what we saw least season, I doubt it. Although when he was motivated at the beginning of last season, he played great basketball. Who knows. That would be great if Farmar develops into a solid, starting point guard for us (let alone top 10!). But his play near the end of last season really left a lot to be desired
I hate Phil, sometimes. He's stupid, despite his 9 rings. Gasol and Bynum need time on the court together. Stop being so fucking stubborn and stop trying to be different. Give them the god damn time together.
