This sounds suspect. Still doesn't mean that Obama's rise to power is not suspect or exaggerated, to say the least.
What disturbs you about that? Now Obama's granddad's friends are a problem? We've gone from 'terrorist when Obama was 8' to 'communist before Obama was born'. barfo
Just another normal, decent American guy that Obama used to "pal around with." No big deal. Apparently Obama has so many nut-case friends that he can't keep them all in the closet. Don't bother alerting the mainstream media, however. They have proven they couldn't give a rat's ass about all of Obama's unsavory associations. They've got their blinders on and their notebooks closed. All they want to do is install Obama in the White House as soon as possible, before the American public gets a whiff of one too many Obama scandals and changes its mind.
Seriously. I can't believe they're spending so much time on this whole "economic catastrophe" thing and refusing to dredge up suspected members of the communist party that Obama may or may not have been in the same room with once. Oh, considering Fox News is the highest rated cable news channel on television, and ALL they do is talk about this kind of shit, I'd say that the mainstream media isn't ignoring it.
I was under the impression that Obama's granddad took a large part in raising him.........that is, during his "impressionable" years. It would occur to me that his granddad's buddies would also have some influence...............at least to a degree. The other night, I was listening to a guy (investigative journalist) on the radio who was around Obama in Hawaii between the ages of around 9 to 18. He shared one story of being around Obama's grandfather and Barack, and this Davis character at a strip club Davis apparently owned or managed............and looking on in wonderment as little 10-year-old Barack's feet dangled/swung off the stool of the bar as he gazed at all the pornography hanging on the walls behind him. I didn't listen to all of the radio show, but the journalist indicated that Obama had "constantly" been around (perhaps infulence by) many, many characters of this sort while in Hawaii. Heh, perhaps, he was witness to a "Z-Bo" type of lifestyle all of those early years. Who knows. "Who cares?", you might ask? To some degree, I do........I'm, at the very least, interested/concerned. Will it directly influence my vote? Perhaps not. Yet, it is just as much part of my interest and intrigue as Sarah Palin's "abuse of power" might be.
I'm interested also. But it doesn't concern me. What concerns me are the things you did as a 10-year old, ABM. I'm just not sure whether you should be posting here given your childhood history. ABM, have you rehabilitated yourself? barfo
I find it interesting that so many Bush haters think it's relevant that he used to drink, and party, and hang out with oil people--yet they think Obama's past and current "associations" should have no bearing on this election.
The problem with Obama is that he's tried very hard to hide his past. Other than Fox, there's no one still asking questions about it. For better or for worse, the backgrounds of other presidential candidates have been open books. What I find alarming is that if Sen. Obama applied for an unelected government job that required security clearance, he wouldn't qualify. Luckily for him, the presidency has two requirements: being born on US soil and being 36 years of age.
Because of his associations. Security clearances are a bitch. I'm not saying it's right, but it is what it is.
So no one that served on one of those boards with Ayers could get a security clearance? I kind of think maybe they could. The connection might well be investigated - but the government is set up for that. barfo
He was elected, though it was as Vice President. But, of course, that example isn't relevant here in any case.
Actually, he wasn't. He was promoted to VP by Nixon after Agnew resigned. He was (iirc) Speaker of the House, though I'd have to look that up. He was never elected to anything nationally. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Ford
Because this future IJ, even as an adolescent, knew Obama would someday be a Presidential Candidate? What a scoop for him! Imagine the odds against the 4 of them ever being together at the same time anywhere, never mind at a strip club! Imagine the odds against him remembering it after 37 years! If this IJ is very old, he was in his 20's, at a strip club, "around" a couple of black geezer nobodies and one's grandson. I don't have a sharp recollection from ANY time I visited a strip club, let alone 37 years ago. Aww...ABM never saw a pin-up when he was young? That's so sweet. ...I didn't listen to all of the radio show... Smart move. Your time is worth more than that.
Fair enough. Good point. Though still irrelevant to the discussion, since if Obama is president, it'll be through election.
