<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Rookie LaMarcus Aldridge out indefinitely April 4, 2007PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Portland Trail Blazers rookie LaMarcus Aldridge is out indefinitely after experiencing dizziness and a rapid heartbeat. He played seven minutes in Saturday's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers before he was taken to the hospital. After he wore a heart monitor for 24 hours, the team asked for additional tests on Aldridge, initially diagnosed with dehydration. The nature of the tests was not revealed. "We are going to run more tests and get a more accurate diagnosis so we can treat it," Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard said. "That's the biggest thing right now. We're in a ruling-out process." Travis Outlaw was expected to start in Aldridge's place Wednesday night for Portland's game against the Utah Jazz. Aldridge had taken over the starter's job when Joel Przybilla had season-ending knee surgery. The Blazers also signed center Luke Schenscher for the remainder of the season. Portland signed the 7-foot-1 Schenscher to a 10-day contract from the development league's Fort Worth Flyers on March 15, and re-signed him to another 10-day contract March 25.</div>This f*cking blows. I really like this kid and he was logging some good minutes as a rookie for the Blazers this year. I hope this isn't serious. He was dizzy and had a rapid heart beat. Man I hope this isn't serious or the Blazers will get yet another blow to their dismal recent history.

Wow that sucks. I like Aldridge too and I think he will have a good career in the NBA. I hope this condition is not serious. He was really improving.

I know I wasn't there or anything but do you really think he was dehydrated? These players prep so much before their games getting proper nutrition and all of that do you really think he just didn't eat or drink anything before a game?

He was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (WPW) and was treated for the condition by Dr. Daniel Oseran at St. Vincent?s. The procedure was successful. Aldridge will be monitored by a cardiologist and will miss the remainder of the season. He is expected to make a full recovery and be cleared to resume physical activity, including basketball, in the near future.------

glad to hear that. good find blazerspwnu! I actually looked it up after you posted that and they said when medically treated there is a high success rate. Only less than 5% of people that are treated for the disease have a reoccurance. I love Aldridge, I hope he has a great career and I'm glad to see he's doing good.

Josh Boone was recently taken to the hospital with heart problems. I hope he can come back in the same ways that Aldridge did.

Couldn't you have just made a new post, or better yet, post it in the team forum where he plays?

Seconded. Please don't bring back up a major headline like this for a basically unrelated story.

I know it probably wasn't on purpose, but seriously, if I keep seeing threads like this pop up I'm going to have heart issues too... I mean did you seriously go back over a year to find this thread just to make a post about Josh Boone?
