Arsenal have been dealt a tricky hand in the Group Stage of the Champions League. Kocaelispor 2-3 FENERBAHCE
    October 18th.
Fenerbahce’s Semih Senturk struck in the 90th minute to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory at bottom-place Kocaelispor on Saturday. The hosts had taken a 23rd-minute lead through Taner Gulleri but two goals in quick succession from Daniel Guiza and Ugur Boral midway through the second half handed the Yellow Canaries the advantage. Nenad Jestrovic’s 78th-minute goal looked to have salvaged a point for Kocaelispor but Senturk’s fine strike wrapped up the victory in stoppage time. The hosts have not beaten Fenerbahce since 1998 and remain rooted to the foot of the table. Fenerbahce climbed to 10th in the Super Lig as a result of their victory.

    Sertanense 0-4 FC PORTO
    October 18th.
A brace from Ernesto Farias helped Porto to a comprehensive victory over Third Division side Sertanense in the Third Round of the Taca de Portugal. The two sides had met in the same competition last season with an identical result. Sektioui Tarik opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time and Ernesto Farias struck his first a minute before the hour-mark. The Argentinean striker bagged his second midway through the second half and a Diego Campos own goal completed the rout three minutes later.

FC DYNAMO KYIV 5-0 FC Zorya Luhansk
    October 17th.
Dynamo cemented their place at the top of the Ukranian Premier League as they demolished FC Zorya Luhansk 5-0 on Friday evening. Four goals in the first 15 minutes and one in the 79th ensured a comfortable game for the hosts. The League’s top scorer, Ismael Bangoura, struck twice either side of goals from Alexandr Aliyev and Tiberiu Ghioane. Roman Zozulya’s effort 11 minutes from time compounded a miserable evening for seventh-place Zorya. Yuri Semin’s men are now two points clear of FC Metalurh Donetsk at the summit.
