    Brook is playing well.

But the novelty of watching young guys play could wear out real fast when the Nets are trying to break a 10 game losing streak.

Is it possible to just fast forward to when the Nets will be a finished product?

Great game for Brook, he and VC were the only bright spots on defense IMO. Good to see him doing well out there, his future looks bright.

Our 2nd unit was able to comeback into the game and kept it close for the most part, so some credit is due, but obviously Hodge, Gill and Ager can't close out games by themselves.

I was disappointed by Harris yet again. He just constantly makes the wrong decisions. Either he makes an extra pass when one isn't needed, or he doesn't pass at all.

Simmons finally found his stroke and he was very helpful on offense...

but his defense sucked, like most of the team's. Yi was especially horrible in that aspect, but he showed that he can drive to the basket in addition to his good outside shot.

Anderson and CDR were mostly ineffective and I still say that Anderson's 1st step is too slow for a SF. He needs to play PF at all times, at least for right now.

Awesome to see Anthony Roberson out there in the final minutes of an NBA game. Last time I saw him was when he was with Hapoel in Israel mid-last season. Great player.

BTW, did anyone else notice that YES listed the top 5 big men in the East and didn't include Dwight Howard? Their list: Chris Bosh, Jermaine O'Neal :-)O), KG, Brand and Randolph :-)O).

Ah, that makes more sense. I guess I didn't notice since they had the Eastern Conference logo in the corner.

I think Wilson Chandler has just as bright a future as anyone on the Nets.

    Thoughts?

Agreed, he was impressive. Showed off a wide array of moves and schooled Yi a few times. What do you think of the Knicks, MrJ? Solid win? How about Roberson? haha

We definitely have talent; it's just all about putting it together this season. I don't know how they will finish, but I can see them fighting for a final playoff spot if everyone stays healthy.

I don't care about the final result in this game. I care about the fact that WE HAVE A CENTER! One with bona fide post moves and a darn nice touch. And one that can defend and board too. If Brook is 75% this good for the season, he will be a legit contender for ROY.

He's really been the most consistent young player on the team, if you count both ends. He had one bad half (his first) and otherwise has played decently to fantastic both ways. He had his fouls under control last game and this one, so he's not making the same mistakes over and over.

If Boone's health checks out, and thank God it sounds like it will, then we are going to have a very nice center combo to use. And the blessing in disguise is that Boone's absence has allowed Brook more room to shine in preseason than he would likely have had otherwise. And, after tonight, I think he has to be the favorite to start on opening night.

Yi's shot was off tonight, but he did show improvement in rebounding. Devin finally got on track in the transition game and had some nice drives in the half court. He made a couple of nice passes, although he's still not where he needs to be in terms of ball distribution and balancing his offense with team offense.

The other welcome development was Simmons' shooting. Finally was looking like the guy with a rep for knocking down corner 3s. If he could do at least that much on the season, it would help the team cause immensely.

Transition defense late first quarter and part of second was the main problem tonight. That's where the lead was built. Even so, Carter never played after the halfway mark of the 3rd, no Dooling, no Boone, no Hayes, no Najera, Yi's shot was off, we played guys significant minutes late who probably won't even be on the team, and we were still in the game up to the last minute. Knicks are inspired and were on fire. That won't always be the case. I'm not bummed, and I look forward to the rematch.

i am sick to death of our team getting the ball, and standing for what seems like 20 seconds, then taking a bad shot. i dont want us to be like suns, but come on, MOVEMENT!!!! lets see some movement from everyone.

just watched the game on DVR.....a few points:

    1) Yi's defense is really bad, they need to work on this 24/7 with him.
    2) When Harris hits his shots it's great but at the same time he needs to be more of a PG, Too many turnovers, and bad passes from trying to do too much with the ball. Needs to get our 7 footers involved.
3)Back to getting 7 footers involved, especially tonight, Lopez had a huge size advantage in most cases and the ball needs to be dumped down to him. Same can be said with pick and rolls with Yi but more so with Lopez being that he actually has a post game.

4)As someone said above...WE HAVE A CENTER!!! Brook Lopez looks like he could be the real deal, very solid post and help def. and blocking shots all preseason. Has that nice jump shot, passes well, nice touch and can actually throw it down a bit. Rebounds very well. Just an all around good game.
