Roy made it over DWill because, at the time, the Blazers were hot and the Jazz were cold. That's all. If the All Stars were picked at the end of the season, DWill would've absolutely made it and Roy would've been nowhere near it.

Don't forget- Deron made the All-NBA second team last season.

I don't think 11 is too high. He's a great player. Averages 20 & 10. That is hardly ever done by a PG in the history of the league.

how would I have forgotten? that was the main part of the quote I initially responded to...

Anyway, I rate Roy and Williams about the same. I think the plethora of other arguably better PGs in the West and lack of other SGs after Kobe was probably a key to why Brandon made it and Deron didn't.

He has led his team to a conference finals in 2005. He's one of the top 5 scorers in the league and he played like an MVP at the end of last season so that's why placed him that high. I guess Duncan will be up there. Which is great because he definitely deserving too.

Amare averaged 37ppg in that conference finals, by the way. They lost but still..

The Suns would have the highest 4 if they still had Marion, Amare, Nash, and Shaq. Crazy to think they have had that much talent but never won anything. I think Amare is surely top 10 talent. Dude averaged 33ppg after they added Shaq.

Marion and Shaq never played together. Bynum hasn't earned a place on the Top 50 yet, I don't think.

2005 is a long ways away from 2008-9. He's a great scorer but his defense and leadership qualities leave room for improvement. I personally feel Amare is more in the 10-20 range.
    The top 5 will be
    1-Kobe
    2-LeBron
    3-Paul
    4-Garnett
5-Duncan (? not sure on this one, maybe Pierce/Wade)

They were in the conference finals in 2005, 2006, the semi finals in 2007. Amare is a unbelievable talent, and easily a top ten player. His defense is lacking cause his last coach didnt ask him to play defense, and leadership is judgmental quality that cant be categorized. If Shaq is healthy for a full season Amare will average 30+ppg, which would be higher than Kobe's MVP year.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
That's crazy. His defense isn't good, but it's not distastrous. His scoring and rebounding makes him very elite. At worst, he's in the 5-10 range. I'd personally place him fifth, after LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade, in order.

Do you still think Oden has earned a spot in top 50 though?

Yes. But clearly, they decided not to rank anyone who hadn't played yet.

Paul Pierce just came in as 7.

Paul Pierce at #7 is outlandish, Pierce would have been lucky to be between 10-20 if he wasn't on a TEAM that just one a championship.

Cs wouldn't have won the title without Paul. You can't hold his teammates against him. Any great player who has won titles needed help to do it. And yes, if they didn't win the title he probably would've been 10-20. But they DID win the title and wouldn't have done it with the kind of star performances he gave out. He went toe to toe with LeBron and won.
