http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/54849/20081013/payton_thinks_nba_will_be_back_in_seattle_by_2011/ You guys needed some news.
I still think the Clippers will move to Seattle, and on that note, I think Sacramento moves to Las Vegas when they get the chance. California has 4 teams....Seattle needs one, and the Maloofs love Vegas. So there.
I believe that it has a strong chance to do that as well, but we all know the Maloofs will push for it.
I personally know that the Vegas people would love it, as I used to live there. They get select Laker games on TV from time to time, but that is it outside of ESPN and TNT. Therefore they don't get a team to root for, besides the Lakers and whoever they like around the league. For a big market like Vegas, I'm actually surprised they don't have a team compared to some place like OKC. However, I can see the logic behind WHY they won't put a team in Vegas, with the gambling and the referee scandal recently, it could only get worse in Vegas, as someone else said: credibility issues. I still think the Clippers will get relocated to Seattle, and the Kings will TRY THEIR BEST to go to Vegas, although the Sac-Town fans won't let that happen. I've noticed that Clipper games are dead here in LA, with the Lakers as the reigning team in peoples hearts (outside of Frankie Munez or whatever it is). Seattle would embrace the Clips. The only dispute I see is the name change, whether to do it or not, I think the Clips should change their name to the Sonics. I mean not many people follow the Clips profusely, plus the Sonic name is still in Seattle and carries more history. The Clips would also make more money in Seattle and the Lakers/Clippers scheduling would be easier.
Very good analysis DWR6. And I agree that whichever teams moves to Seattle (or a new one gets created) should keep the Sonics name, for the sake of the fans and the history.
Thank you. I don't think a new team will be created. It'll make things uneven, and that bugs me The Sonics would love to watch BDiddy play, and we all know it. The guy is exciting and it's not like there isn't talent around him this year.
Lol, they'll catch Bdiddy if the team moves in 2 or 3 years from now. But really, no city should have two teams while others like Vegas, Seattle, etc have no teams. That's how I see it.
Exactly. Takes away from my Lakers and causes this "Clips are better!" bullshit that I got during high school....dumbasses lol California has 4 teams btw
Get a new arena that is partially paid by the taxpayers and several businessmen and perhaps they can lure the Bobcats there. Looks like MJ isn't doing very well there. Read up. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...rcF?slug=aw-bobcats102008&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
