I've read blogs and articles by reporters where they have eluded to his selfish play as if it was a dark secret in the halls of the organization.

That is not what I said.

Someone had to score more. It wasnt going to be Kidd and Krstic. So that left VC and RJ.

It is so funny how people RJ selfish.

RJ avg. a little more in assists last year. He avg. the same amount of rbs. Yeah he took more shots, but Frank last year said he had given RJ more plays. Where the year before RJ hardly had any.

VC is our main scoring option. RJ should have been the second option. Only problems is many here say that VC is a very good passer, but this is the reason he took less shots. So people label RJ for being selfish and taking shots away from VC or other teammates, but you agree with VC passing the ball when he should be taking more shots.

Anyway, the real issue was RJ's Defense, but the whole team had defensive issues

These are the same reports that have been telling us that Sean Williams is the best player in camp.

Maybe he has been best in camp and just sucks in real games?

Maybe RJ is a really competitive person that doesnt like to lose and wanted to score more.

I must have missed when his scoring more helped the Nets win more games.

The old RJ sure seemed to be more effective in that area.

    You are funny.

But why arent you saying that VC taking less shots didnt help either. Oh, but he is such a great passer.

What have we won since VC has been here?

This back and forth is pointless.

Discussion on a discussion board is pointless?

VC didn't change at all and he has never been selfish.

He came to a team that wanted someone incompatible with his game to be the centerpiece.

RJ devolved at his team's expense.

That's a contradiction. Not changing his game to help the team win is being selfish.

Just my thoughts, man. But given everything about the players - personalities, talent, contracts, age, etc., if I only had to have one of the big three on the Nets, Carter would've been my third choice.

Really? Despite Kidd's malcontent behavior to the team and demand for an extentsion? Despite RJ's play forming in a way that hurt the team more than helped, and his contract?

At least Carter is worth his contract and his play is unselfish.

The best of those three players right now is Carter. The other two are laughably overpaid. Carter should never have been re-signed, but that's because Kidd is washed up and the team was no longer a contender.

I don't disagree with anything in this post, but wouldn't you agree that Carter is laughably overpaid?

Carter is the player I'd take if they needed to win one game, but the team needs to rebuild and the other two have better contracts. I think if/when Carter gets traded, the Nets will be lucky if they get a haul like Yi/Simmons. (and yes, feel free to taunt me with this if I'm wrong)

That's why Jefferson was traded. He's younger and cheaper. The Nets re-signed Carter because they thought the window was still open, which was dumb thinking. Still, hard to be too upset considering how much they got for Kidd and RJ and they kept the best guy.

Alot of teams probably low balled on the Carter offers and there was no point just dumping carter for nothing but scrubs. The Nets already have too many people under contract already.

The Yi and Simmons wasnt a bad move I just dont think Simmons should be starting, they need to give time to a young 3 that can be part of the future along with Harris.

I think Morrison would be a cheap option. You could unload Hassell and Boone or Williams and get Morrison
