Chicago needs to move some people in order to be competitive like they want to be and develope the young talent they have, mainly trying to get creative with a trade involving Hughes,Gooden and or Ben Gordon.
If we could pull off a Dampier-Stackhouse for Hinrich-Hughes deal, I wonder how everyone would feel about it? Stackhouse’s deal is not guaranteed for next year, so we free up enough cap to re-sign Gordon if that works out. In the shorter run, he’s not a turd like Hughes. And if he is, turn around and trade him again. Dampier’s deal is not guaranteed for 2010, so we free up the 2010 option unless something really kick ass comes along. And in the short-run, he provides the big guy we need up front while Noah fills in. This isn’t a perfect lineup by any stretch of the imagination, but I can see the possibilities. 1- Rose 36, Gordon 12 2- Gordon 24 Deng 12, Thabo/Stackhouse 12 3- Deng 24, Noc 24 4- Thomas 30, Noah 18 5- Dampier 24, Gooden 24
I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. Unloads some contracts (Hinrich and Hughes), gives us size in the middle (Dampier), and a wing scorer who doesn't have a guaranteed contract next year (sayonara Stack). Question is... does Dallas do it?
not a bad deal except Dallas would only have Diop at the 5 and maybe play Bass there in spurts. Also Gerald Green is playing well so they might be hesistant to make a move especially since Stack is playoff proven and Hughes tends to buckle up come playoff time. Hinrich would be perfect to takeover from Kidd but I doubt Del Negro is 100 percent comfortable with Rose this early. Nice deal to think about though.
