Kobe apparently clashed with a Charlotte player during today's pre-season game and was rewarded with a hyperextended knee. They don't know the complete severity of the injury (though it's unlikely he misses much time). However, if the unlikely does happen, could Kobe not be ready for the season opener?

    Hope so! :)

No, really - I'd much rather have the Blazers face the Lakers at full strength. It will make the "W" that much sweeter.

While I don't wish any injury upon him it would definitely not hurt my feelings if he missed the opener.

Kobe better show up. Last time I watched him live, he dropped 68 on Portland.

The announcers already listed him as day-to-day, I'd fully expect him to be ready to go next Tues.

I hope he is OK. I don't need any excuse next Tuesday. With his pinky and knee he is looking at a long season. Where will the Lakers finish if Kobe misses 25+ games?

I highly doubt he'll miss the opener.. just an excuse for him to rest up and take the rest of the lame preseason off. And I want us to face Kobe anyway. It makes it much more enjoyable to beat them, and if we lose to them without Kobe.... ugh, that'd be bad.

There was a time when I would have wished an injury on Kobe but I have since then learned that I will never wish injury on another player again ... ever ... and ever. I want a healthy Kobe to see how our team stacks up with the Western Conference champs -- I don't think we're going to win in L.A. but I want to see how far we have yet to go before we "arrive."

I hope he is ready to play. I don't want to hear any excuse for when they lose.
