    I got the T-Mobile G1 today.

    Finally a 3G phone from T-Mobile!

I'm just now starting to play with it.

Tell us how it is man, I have the t-mobile dash at the moment. Will get the G1 if I know it's worth it.

If you have internet, tell us how fast is it and can you view s2 easily?

My first impression of the browser is that it's 1,000,000 times better than the ones available on the Dash (I had a Wing and an MDA - same thing).

The best browser I found was Opera Mini 4, which is Java based and has lots of limitations. The Google browser is like Safari. Muuuuuuuch better.

That's pretty cool man, so can you view regular pages now? like for example to go espn.com (not the mobile version)

Well, Opera Mini can do that - zoom and see pictures and stuff - but now I can watch videos and see it like it is on a desktop or laptop.

I only went online for 30 seconds, so I can give more details after I use it for a bit.

The cool thing about this phone is that the OS is open source and it's simple to upgrade.

The other phones I've had are a gigantic pain in the ass. You have to hack them and need developer's codes and so on. This thing is so neat!

And, BTW, the phone part of this phone is excellent. It's not an afterthought.

Maybe report after few days of using, let us know what you like about it, etc.

Damn, that's much better then the other phones. Like the Dash for example, I'm stuck with whatever they have.

Also is the phone locked like the rest or it can be used on other companies?

I don't know if they will stay free.

I downloaded all kinds of stuff onto my WM phones. You just have to search the internet a little (xdadevelopers.com *cough, cough*) and have a lot of time and patience.

How is the keyboard? I've read bad reviews on it, but I'd like to your impressions about it.

It sucks compared to the Wing. It's chintzy and not very responsive. The keys are too small. The black one is easier to see in the dark since the backlight isn't very strong.

It's no big deal, though. I'll get used to it. I want to have sex with the rest of the phone.

There's an app that listens to whatever song is playing and identifies and tags it for you.

I don't have the money or I would.

The phone is just my scheduled upgrade. I waited for it to come out for a while. T-Mobile was far behind the other carriers.
