Deco: We Must Keep Victories Going

Chelsea's playmaking midfielder Deco believes the Blues can dent Liverpool's title ambitions if his side continue their winning momentum this weekend.

It is too early in the season for Sunday's top of the table clash between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge to be classed as a six-pointer, but Deco still believes that should his side claim victory then they can damage their visitor's title ambitions.

"This game won’t decide the title. Not now, at this early stage," Deco told the Sun.

"But it is very important for the championship because if we win then we stay top and we open up a gap on Liverpool.

"It’s important to keep the victories going and the game against Liverpool is crucial, especially with the home record we have," he said.

Chelsea are on a record busting home run, having gone 86 games without loss at home.

Fernando Torres is a doubt for the fixture but the Reds secured a win over reigning double champions Manchester United earlier in the season without the Spanish striker.
