Who do you remember as your favorite guy coming out of school with huge potential that never lived up to it? I remember as a kid being a big Donyell Marshall fan when he was picked like #4, and he ended up not living up to the potential at all. Another guy I really liked was Jimmy Jackson, and he ended up having a couple good years, but nowhere near his hype. And when I was a kid I always like Robert Pack on the Blazers, although he wasn't very hyped at all.
I recall favoring Glenn Robinson out of the big three from that rookie class (Robinson, Kidd, and Hill). I wouldn't say he was a favorite, necessary. He had an OK career, but certainly never reached the heights of the other two.
It actually is sad in Hills case. Does everybody remember how good he was in Detroit? He was incredible. If injuries didn't plague him in Orlando I could see him as being one of the best SF's ever.
for me its gotta be isiah rider, i thought he was gonna lead portland to the promised land. what a fool i was. (he wasnt too smart either)
yeah he was just an idiot. I remember watching him as a kid and thinking he was one of our best players though. That team had a pretty good starting lineup.
