I would love to have him on the Nets. Knicks wont sign him since they TRYING to clear up cap space

I like him too, but we might already have enough pf's

Would be cool to get Q though

They don't want to commit now. Meaning his agent wanted him to be overpayed to re-sign early.

It is a stupid trade because we dont need him.

We already have players we are going to re-sign ourselves. Addng another one isnt going to help. Anyway. The knicks dont want to sign him because of cap space. Why should we?

Another thing we already have a player the can give us a double double with no jump shot.

If you tell me Boone+whatever for Lee then the negotiations can begin. Besides that we dont need him.

Why is he that much better than Boone? VC posterized him last night and he was outplayed by Lopez.

If they really intend on clearing space, he'll be packaged with someone for expiring contracts.

Probbaly Zach contract. Man, I hope Knicks waive Ewing Jr. Nets should waive Ager and sign Ewing Jr. This guy wants to win

David Lee is a scramble offense player, he has no jumper, a few post moves, can rebound because of his positioning on the floor when he doesn't play D, if your willing to deal Sean Williams the Knicks would do it straight up. David Lee is also a FA after this season and he hasn't been happy as a Knick and does not even know what direction they are going. It would be ridiculously dumb to pick up a player we already have David Lee is Josh Boone just that David can't lock up anyone. He's a gifted hands player an ok to average IQ w/ a bunch of dumb IQ players.

The guy Thorn and Kiki should be hoping for his imminent waiver is Patrick Ewing Jr. he has the makings of a young raw Shawn Marion and who wouldn't want to pair him w/ CDR off the bench
:devilwink:

Patrick Ewing Jr. is a better player on the Knicks than he would be anywhere else.

He plays D, has an IQ for a young SF, and is a fast leaper, literally he gets up quick. He's a spark plug off the bench w/ Marion like attributes and a crazy work ethic. One of my friends works for MSG and he said Jr is like his dad he was shooting the ball practicing when the cheerleaders were warming up on the court, shoot around wasn't less than 2 hours away when he started, he's a hard worker and has more to his game Thompson's system just wasn't focused on anyone other than Hibbert and the wing shooters.

BTW lets get this clear your saying no to this if it's waived ?

no he's dope.

Still I gotta think that he's a made man at MSG, and for knick history, it's an ideal place for him to play. IF the Knick management is dumb enough to let him walk he'd be a great pickup for this team if not a thumb in the eye of the Knick franchaise.

That video proves nothing. Lets see him do that against nba defenders in a game then ill consider him.

There is no player on the Nets who can average a consistent double-double like David Lee can. Unless Josh Boone is being spoon-fed dunks/layups, he is mostly ineffective on the offensive end. Lee on the other hand is actually effective on the offensive end. He’s developing a solid midrange jumper, is a pretty good passer (especially with the outlets), and has pretty decent footwork. Lee is also the better rebounder, is more efficient, and is just the overall better player with more potential. And there’s no question Lee is better than Sean Williams.

As for his future with the Knicks, we are just waiting until the summer, which hardly means we won’t re-sign him.

David Lee averages a double double bcuzz hes the only knick big men who is actually useful. If he goes on the nets hes numbers will be down cuzz he has to share minutes with lopez boone and sean.

Your not going to resign him, he's going to walk away, no way a kid like him turns down big money from a contender. As for Lee on offense what you just said about him is Josh Boone when healthy exacept Boone plays D, David doesn't. For all the things I hear and see about David Lee he is an off the bench player when he is defended 1 on 1 he goes cold, he has a raw jumper, improved in the FT department, can rebound and box out and that's just about all he does and the majority of that he does is vs bench players 6-9 lineup players every once in the blue he'll have a 20/10 rebound game but your nuts if that's what you think he is.

Rebounding, post moves (not saying much), shooting, ball handling, free throws (huge disparity here), speed, jumping skills

As for "intangibles" - hustle and passion for the game

Boone is a better defender, though

supposedly boone has a nice jumpshot now but we haven't gotten a chance to see it yet

So much of what you provide is, as usual, subjective and therefore not worth discussing. "Hustle and Passion for the game"? How is that defined? Quantified? By smiles, by screams, by protesting refs. Perhaps fist bumps or body slams per game? Boone has a different personality than Lee. That makes him less of a hustler and less passionate about the game? What horseshit reasoning.

Neither have post moves...none. Ball handling? based on what? Speed? prove it. Jumping skills? Vertical jump stats please. Tiresome.

He is an athlete who has yet to develop an outside shot. The reason he hasn't been re-signed is that he hasn't advanced his game.
