Update and Upgrade

October 25, 2008, 7:20 pm Twice a year, we engage in a little exercise–grading and regrading Rod Thorn’s roster moves. At the trade deadline and just before opening night, we take a look at the Nets’ trades, drafts, free agent signings going all the way back to 2000, and assign a grade. A lot of the time, good grades become failing grades, and vice versa. So here it is, with comments from April 2006 forward still in place.

I always love reading this grading twice a year. I don't think that K-Mart trade should be considered a B. I don't think that Eric Williams signing should be a D. I think I should be a B at least. The lead to the Carter trade. Who cares how much Toronto had to pay for him later on. In fact his drop in Toronto sweetened the Carter trade grade.
