I predict we will make the playoffs...

Let's see what happens, but I have a feeling I'm gonna be right.

62-70 wins. Farmar and Odom both contend for 6th MOY awards while Bynum contends for MIP. Kobe wins his second MVP. He then brings home the more important hardware, winning the NBA title and Finals MVP to go along with that.

At first I thought that your numbers for Gasol were too conservative, but if he and Bynum can both be convinced to get these stats the Lakers will be a great team. Not as good as my boys in Portland or Detroit, but good. :)

Really..the Spurs...The team that is another year older? After age caught up to them last year against us? The team that we handled pretty damn easily without Bynum? The Spurs are going to knock us out of it. I can see if we have just Bynum and Gasol out there and Kobe is injured...but you're smoking some good shit if you think a Spurs team is going to knock us off.

60-68 wins. lakers face rockets or hornets in conference finals, i dont want to say how that'll turn out because we could definately lose out to either of them, but we'll probably make it to the finals, about a 70-30 chance we make the finals id say. Bynum improves on his stats from last season, gasol fits into our system even more, odom provides an incredible talent for a sixth man, is our x-factor, and radmanaverages over 10 points a game. Farmar, well i dont want to say that he'll be really good just because i read it somewhere and everyone is on his balls, but he has improved and could possibly have a breakout season.

Farmar will be good for the 1st half of the year, when his hair is short. It's when it starts to grow that he turns to shit.

Age caught them last year? I thought it was Ginobili's constant injury that kept bugging him that was San Antonio's downfall.

The Spurs are plenty capable of knocking you off. Duncan is as good as anyone, Parker is just coming into his prime, Ginobili will be back by January, they still have plenty of depth around those guys. Another year older is just a desperate excuse to discredit a team that is still as much of a title contender as anyone in the league.

I'm smoking shit? LAWL. There are people in here predicting 70 wins for the Lakers, but I'm the one smoking crazy shit...

Big whup. We were playing a whimp at center who couldn't grab rebounds for his life. Gasol was playing out of position ever since he came to the Lakers and never had a chance to utilize his midrange game, one of his biggest strengths. We had nobody in the paint to challenge or contests shots, because we didn't have a shot blocker. Bynum changes all that. He gives us a presence in the paint, something Gasol didn't have. He gives us more toughness, and he gives us somebody who can actually rebound the ball. Not to mention he moves Gasol down to his natural position, and gives defenses someone else to hone in on in the paint. Point guard defense is gonna be even better because point guards won't be driving into the paint at ease anymore because we don't have a wuss as last line of defense. We actually have someone who can challenge or contest shots.

Actually, the Spurs did show their age last year didn't they? They couldn't keep up with us. Duncan didn't do hot against us in the playoffs, and I can't imagine him dominating us with Gasol and Bynum in the paint. Parker is coming into his prime, but Gasol (who wasn't even playing to his strengths) and Kobe are already in their primes. Ginobili will be back in January, Andrew Bynum is already back. And of course Trevor Ariza, the second best defender on our roster behind Kobe, is back as well. Not to mention our bench is filled with talented players, Lamar Odom, for starters, a borderline allstar his entire career will be coming off the bench. Jordan Farmar, who has been nothing short of spectacular this preseason, will lead the second unit, as will Trevor Ariza and the Machine.

Of course I'm not guaranteeing anything. You're free to your own opinion. But in my opinion, if we get knocked out in the playoffs (which won't happen ), it will be either to the Hornets or the Rockets. Not the Spurs.

It won't be the Hornets, either. They'll come back down to Earth this year. Houston kind of scares me, though.

I think its LA vs Houston in the Conf. Finals
    LA vs. Spurs Semi-Finals
    LA vs Portland Preliminary Round.

    What has Bynum proven??

Not the Spurs? Sounds to me like someone's counting them out and will be in for a nasty surprise come June.

You really are cherrypicking for this. You're trying to tell me that Jordan Farmar and Trevor Ariza are the reasons you'll beat the Spurs? That's ludicrous. You describe Gasol as a weapon in the paint against Duncan, yet you also describe him as a wimp earlier in your post. Which is it? Either way, Gasol is not going to stop Duncan in the paint. AND you're telling me that Odom will be a borderline all-star? Even if he was on a team where he would actually have the oppurtunities to get those numbers, I'd be skeptical.

Bynum was averaging 17/11 for his last 15 games last year....By the way he led the league in FG%. All the doubters like to use his stats for the full year which were 13/10 but thats just not accurate when he wasnt even a starter for the first month or so. You say what has he proven...Well those stats, plus him growing in height and muscle this off season, and him barley missing a beat once he started playing in preseason. He got better as the preseason went on which culminated in the final preseason game where he had 23 point 10/15), 8 reb, , 3 blocks, 2ast, 1 steal. He's gonna be just fine, thank you very much.

JE, you laugh at the notion of Farmar and Ariza beating the Spurs. They wont beat the Spurs alone but they are gonna be part of killing the Spurs (or any teams) second string. Fisher, Sasha, Ariza, Odom, and Mihm is a hell of a second unit and I challenge anybody to argue for a better 2nd string in the league. The Lakers are going to win games because of the beat-down our 2nd string will give to other teams 2nd units.
