http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...27-bulls-chicago-season-opener,0,861525.story I think starting Gray is a no brainer. Teams with small frontcourts usually suck, and Gray is our best offensive big...so if he is our best offensive big...and our best defensive big...is it really a difficult decision on whether he should start or not?
It didn't seem to me like he was saying 'Gray is my best defender', just that he was good at knowing where to go. That is useful, but in the absence of being able to get to spots fast enough to do something useful, doesn't necessarily count for much. I like Aaron Gray, but I still think he's a 10-15 minute guy.
If Aaron Gray is your best defender, you're fucked. A little more seriously, I agree with Rosenthall. Knowing what to do and being able to do it are vastly different things. On the other hand, Gooden hasn't looked very good at C, and I think Tyrus could defensively do pretty well if he were given some freedom and Gray is basically told to stand there and be big.
