UPDATE: More on Oden's foot. It's being called a mid-foot sprain. X-rays inconclusive. Oden will undergo an MRI tomorrow.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! *SHOOTS MYSELF*

Yep, he'll be out at least a few weeks or perhaps a couple of months. Bad luck.

Miller said it looked like a sprain, but x-rays inconclusive. MRI tomorrow.

Just saw the replay. Looks like a bad sprain to me. That could have happend to anyone. He caught the end of his foot against another player's shoe.

Doug Collins used the term "snakebitten". I think that's more accurate than "injury prone".

I'd like to know how x-rays can be inconclusive? Either you have a broken bone or you don't.

If it's a hairline, you may need a clearer view.

I think that means the damage might be to the ligaments instead of the bone.

    Fuck me.

I don't see how he could have broke his foot with that fall. Ligiment damage won't show up on an X-ray with swelling, while an MRI should give a more accurate picture. He could have torn a ligament in his foot. That would seem to be worst-case unless he took another hit that we haven't seen yet.

They just said that because they saw something and don't want to say for sure until they know what it really is. I really think he will be out for a while maybe months. He can't get in game shape because he can't stay healthy long enough. Fuck Oden didn't even make it for our first home game.:sigh:

What sucks about the injury is that means his fat butt won't be able to get into shape.

I'm officially on the "wait and see" with Oden now. He gets no more praise from me until he does something.

I suppose, but I don't think a hairline fracture would be consistent with that kind of injury. With that kind of torque I would expect to see a clear seperation fracture if it existed.

I wouldn't blame Oden. He already fees the weight of the world on his shoulders. Some players are just hampered by injuries..we just happened to pick one with the #1 overall pick

The ligaments are more of a concern with the flex his ankle/foot took on that fall.

That's why the MRI. If he was able to keep playing, I'm guessing it's just a really bad sprain that probably swelled a lot at half-time.

I suppose, but I would say that means the x-rays are negative. Soft tissue damage is diagnosed with an MRI.
