If you look at the reasoning for picking up Ewing, then I'd guess these people would use their same lines of logic to support that Stromile and Sean should be our starting bigs. hmmmm.....
Actually you are right about Sean, but way off about Swift. Swift has shown he has no interest in being in the NBA. For me, Swift is only here to collect a check. The only reason Swift is still on the team because Thorn may need him for a trade. Besides that he is a waste. Pat Ewing Jr was drafted in the second round at 43. Three spots after CDR. Are you a fan of CDR? I would say you are with a picture of CDR sticking his tongue out. Who knows why CDR slipped! Yeah CDR was a better college player then Ewing, but I liked what I saw in the few minutes he played in that game. So since you mentioned Swift, why not want someone that in 9 minutes showed he wanted to be in the NBA as opposed to a first round #2 pick masquerading as a NBA player for years. Stick to the one word answers and one liners, That is more of your strong suit.
I watched Ewing Jr. in College steadily. He sacrificed the development of his individual game for a team concept. There have been a few guys who didn't have much of a shot, but were athletic and defensive minded enough to get attention(see Richard Jefferson). Ewing is definitely more of a second round version of that kind of ball, but with the opportunity to develop some pro 'angles' and continue to bring what he already brings, I'd rather Ewing taken up the 13th-15th area of the Roster than some of the other jokers who have bounced around this league for years and produced next to nothing. Kid has dedication, work ethic, a price-less guide/coach/father, hustle, crazy ups, tenacity, and yes, even some skill....give 'em a damn job already.
I'm glad you said because coming from me it would have been propping him, he first was in IU then transfered to GT it was there that John Thompson III asked him to sacrifice his game and be an example to the system, Ewing Jr. was a hard worker had as good as a jump shot but Thompson got him to believe in a system he not only did that but also was the spark plug to the Hoya D and fastbreak. The kid can shoot, if you were at MSG watching shoot around he can shoot but in a game he does what he's told and doesn't bicker also acts like a leader. Teammates watch him play offensively they know he can shoot but seeing him and his hard work ethic would put half the pros in this game to shame lets put it like this Doc Rivers after the Celtics game went to hug one Knick and talked to him for a few mins. it was Ewing Jr. he even called KG over to speak w/ him on the court after a Knicks exhibition game.
LOL I brought those names up as a comparison to the people who were jerking off to Pat Ewing Jr because he could jump high. Obviously if you use that same method of valuing someone like Swift it falls apart. Therefore, people shouldn't get head over heels about a guy who's just an athlete. Hey networks I know that you're not very good at discussing basketball, but you should really really try to understand someone's post before you try to insult them, else you risk falling on your face and looking like a fool. I won't even get into why you brought up CDR, that's just silly.
Yeah, but swift clearly has motivation issues. Where Ewing clearly has a competitive nature. The other thing with your comparison is that there were more expectations with Swift and he hasnt lived to them. Ewing is a player with lower expections with the potential to be good. Yeah but when you use words like "these people", you should expect it. Clearly in your last post towards me, you put me in that group of "these people" and now I know. Thanks for your vote of confidence. I will cherish it.
